Product Description ALEX WHITMAN IS A STRAIGHT-LACED CORPORATE TYPE WHO MEETS ISABEL FUENTES, A FIERY MEXICAN-AMERICAN PHOTOGRAPHER. A SINGLE NIGHT OF PASSION LEADS TO MARRIAGE AND TWO PEOPLE FROM VERY DIFFERENT CULTURES MUST ADJUST TO A NEW LIFESTYLE TOGETHER AND OVERCOME THEIR PARENTS' DISMAY AT THEIR UNION.
Amazon.com Opposites attract in this conventional but refreshingly unpredictable romantic comedy. New York nightclub designer (Matthew Perry, from television's Friends) is in Las Vegas to supervise the construction of a new project when he meets a fiery Mexican beauty (Salma Hayek). It's lust at first sight, and their one-night stand takes an unexpected turn when she shows up three months later to announce that she's pregnant. They're determined to do right for each other, so they get married in a Vegas chapel with an Elvis impersonator as their witness. Then comes the hard part--trying to figure out if they're actually compatible. The plot complications are mostly familiar, but Perry and Hayek throw some bright sparks as their initial bliss turns to more realistic concerns for family and future. Along the way there's some sharp dialogue and a few good laughs to give this all-too-human comedy an enjoyable spin. --Jeff Shannon

A wonderful movie! March 6, 2009 AvgMom2 (Long Island, NY) This movie is over a decade old so it repeats a lot on TV, but I always end up catching only part of it. I decided to get this DVD so I can watch it from the very beginning. I'm glad I did. Two people from totally different background falling in love and dealing with issues that divide them. What a wonderful script! The dialogue moved. Great casting and great acting. I loved everything about this movie! I read one negative reviewer who said if you loved this movie, you must be 12-yrs old. Well, I'm 12-yrs many times over and I still love this movie! Is it realistic for condom to break and the girl to become pregnant? Why, yes! That's how I got pregnant with my daughter! That look on Matthew Perry's face when Salma Hayek told him that she was pregnant was exactly what my husband looked! And he thought I was just getting fat! This movie brought back a lot of memory. I loved it.
LUVED IT!! December 31, 2008 Madiha Khan I love this movie..it is one of my favorites..my best friend (who happens to be a boy) even loved this movie! and he is a tough critic for chick flicks..so that says something! Awesome movie!
Fools Rush In October 12, 2008 djsmom99 Fools Rush In This is a fun romantic comedy movie, in which two people from totally different cultures meet, have a one-night stand, and the woman ends up pregnant. The story revolves around this couple's relationship and the challenges they face, as the expected due date of their child nears. I had this movie in the VHS version when it was first sold, and liked it so much, I recently (and finally) purchased the movie in DVD version.
what a disapointment October 1, 2008 Amy L. Hawks 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received my dvd and not only was the cover slashed, but the disc had a slash in it so deep that it only played 10 minutes and then froze. I tried repeatedly to "trick" the disc into working, but it was a complete waste.

On the surface this looks like just another superficial formulatic Hollywood movie, and while that is true, Matthew Perry and Salma Hyek really make it work well. This movie rises above all expectations. When she finds herself pregnancy after a one-night stand, and they decide to be together despite the odds, they have so many issues to overcome. Perry is from New York and Hyek makes her home in Nevada. He is Presbyterian and she is Catholic. Not to mention the many cultural differences. They have terrific chemistry, and wonderful on screen presence together. Wonderful movie.
