See this for Rory Cochrane November 1, 2008 Allison While Gina Gershon is featured on the cover of the DVD box, Rory Cochrane is actually the protagonist. He plays a rookie cop named Chris O'Brien, a devout Catholic who loses his innocence once he joins the police force and is partnered with Gershon's mentally unbalanced veteran cop, Officer Hugs. A rogue cop is driving around bumping off junkies and other low-lifes by shooting them in the left eye. The two cops engage in a steamy affair, and O'Brien is torn between his lust for Hugs and his suspicion that she may be the killer. Gershon and Cochrane definitely have chemistry and smoke up the screen. I liked how their love scenes were steamy without being really graphic. Gershon is good as the somewhat crazy older cop, and her performance is ambiguous enough that you are genuinely kept wondering whether or not she is really the killer. But I liked Cochrane even more as the hero who is trying to unravel the truth and coming apart and falling from grace. I have enjoyed him in films like A Scanner Darkly, The Company, and Right at Your Door and have always felt he is underrated as a actor. He should get more lead roles. The other performances in the movie are merely adequate. I thought Alison Eastwood as a detective was robotic. Otherwise, this film was a good erotic thriller and I would recommend it.
GINA AS A HOT, HOT COP April 3, 2006 Kenneth Kapel (Chicago,Il, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Good cop\ba d cop is a hollywood staple, the only thing that raises this film, even a little bit, is the performance by the always wonderful and sexy GINA GERSHON.GINA, in this one MAY be a BAD cop and a KILLER. If this film had a better script, direction, and secondary cast it might come close to a film noir classic. But once again THE GREAT GINA is saddled with second rate back-up.GINA I love you,but the film is only so,so.
Gina Gershon is Hotter Than EVER!! November 29, 2005 Christophe E. Johnson 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you enjoy a movie with a basic plot, but with plenty of Gina Gershon then this IS it. Gershon does a good job acting wise, but my God, there isn't one frame in this film where she isn't breath takingly HOT! For all Gershon fans, check it out, and buy it for keeps.
WOW!! Rory Cochran is AWESOME!! December 20, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just loved this movie. I am a big Rory fan and just thought that he was sexy in this movie. Really hot!!! And Gina was just as good. And a very nice suprise in the end. If you don't want your typical I know who did it in the beginning, then this is your movie.
Black and White is your standard good cop bad cop tale May 20, 2001 larry (usa) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
The old riddle about a newspaper goes, "What's black and white, and read all over?" Well, the best way to sum up this movie is to say: it's called Black and White and I read right through it. A cop is on a killing spree through the dark streets of Los Angeles, shooting junkies and other no-good-nicks in the left eye. Rookie cop and Chris O'Brien is partnered with the beautiful, veteran female cop, Hugs to solve the case. The evidence starts to pile up against Hugs, and O'Brien must choose to trust his partner or his employer interesting movie good thriller
