Amazon.com The "diversity" in this edition of Short refers to ethnic diversity, not a diverse array of films on view. Unfortunately, this batch isn't nearly as compelling as the previous DVDs in the series. Of the six shorts presented, the most intriguing are "Buy My Film," a 1995 mixed-media contribution from director John Schnall, and Saving Private Ryan actor Vin Diesel's "Multi-Facial" are the most intriguing, clever, and palatable of the lot, though Diesel's extra goodies--six interviews and a bit called "Vin Works on Iron Giant"--reek of commercialism and self-promotion. As is the case with all the Short editions, the Sound Bit section, here with jazz cellist Erik Friedlander, is a must-watch. But Short 5 is also plagued by the spate of consumer-driven spots and ads that open each film, and they taint the entire package with a television mentality, ignoring the real purpose of the series--to promote short films as an art form. --Paula Nechak

Vin Diesel fans January 7, 2010 Paul Brooks (FL USA) If you are a Vin Diesel fan then this is a must. It only has a short film with him it it but if you collect his works then you must have this one for your collection. Some of the other shorts are good and some are not worth looking at but over all this is a must have DVD.
very good September 22, 2007 Silvia Teixeira (Portugal) i bought this for Vin Diesel's movie and was really pleased to see it was as good as i thought it would be. an early effort that explains that Vin is so much more than the "muscle guy"!
This is an awesome movie for any Vin Diesel Fan! September 12, 2003 Dody Brice (Kittanning, PA United States) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
When I first got this DVD I was upset because the movie, MULTI FACIAL was only 20 minutes long. It was my sole reason for purchasing it. But after watching that along with the extra bits and pieces, I think it was well worth the money. I've always thought Vin Diesel was a talented actor, but this puts him beyond that. I highly recomend this DVD for all Vin Diesel Fans. Let me tell you, It's deffinately worth it.
The Best!! May 17, 2003 Tracy Collins (Ohio) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I personally think this is Vin at his best because he put so much into it. As a fan, I feel very honored having watched Multi-Facial. Theres nothing better than having an artist whom you believe in so much give you such a great gift like this! Not only that, Vin has so much to offer. He teaches us so many things. Trust me, if you don't have this film YOUR MISSING OUT!!!
Don't Waste Your Time May 6, 2003 M. Neal 6 out of 15 found this review helpful
If you want to waste a portion of your day being soul-numbingly bored and dissatisfied, I highly urge you to watch this movie. I enjoy short films, but this stretched my patience too far. With the exception of "The Job" each of these short films are pointless drivel. Adding insult to injury, before each film are commercials and previews that undermine the whole concept of independent films. This DVD was an experience in dissatisfaction.
