| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Elvis Presley's seventh film was the first of his "Hawaii trilogy" (including Girls! Girls! Girls! and Paradise, Hawaiian Style). While its story is daft--the King has just been released from his Army posting in Italy and returned to the islands, where he's trying to avoid working in his father's fruit business--the music is not: "Blue Hawaii," "Almost Always True," and the beautiful "Can't Help Falling in Love." Angela Lansbury plays Elvis's mother, who can't seem to get through to him. Directed by the star's frequent collaborator, Norman Taurog (G.I. Blues). --Tom Keogh

Elvis Movie January 20, 2010 Karyl K. Stanley (Milwaukee, WI) Had been searching for this movie for some time. Was happy to find it on Amazon. Enjoyed watching the "King" in his younger days, as well as the beautiful scenery. This is my favorite Elvis movie and I am happy to now have it in my DVD collection.
Sigh! December 24, 2009 J. Arena (Williamsburg, VA) This is a totally silly movie starring the greatest hunk in history -- Elvis Presley. I'd give no awards to the writers of the script, but the songs are among the best that The King has ever sung. "Can't Help Falling In Love" and "Blue Hawaii" are just stand-out fabulous. It's worth sitting through the nutty plot to get to them. Oh, and for Murder She Wrote fans, Angela Landsbury plays Elvis's mother!
I wonder what The King would have thought about his dear mother selling all those nasty meat pies?
The King is Alive and well in Blue Hawii October 7, 2009 P. Konold (Idaho) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Sound/picture quality very bad June 8, 2009 Anne M. Houser (Atlanta, GA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this movie for my dad for his birthday. We went to watch it and the picture went from very dark to normal every few mintues. As well the sound was poor quality . In the future I will probably choose to purchase the DVD.
