Product Description NICK BEAM COMES HOME TO FIND HIS WIFE IN THE ARMS OF HIS BOSS. DAZED, NICK SPEEDS AWAY IN HIS CAR ONLY TO BE ACCOSTED AT A STOPLIGHT BY A FAST-TALKING CARJACKER. WITH NOTHING TO LOSE, NICK TURNS THE TABLES ON HIS MUGGER, TAKING HIM HOSTAGE.
Amazon.com With a story that's too flimsy to support its running time, this road-movie comedy has plenty of problems, but at its best it's a surprisingly inspired vehicle for the clever teaming of Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence. Robbins plays an addled advertising executive who comes home early one day and discovers his wife in bed with his boss. To make matters worse, he's later carjacked by a struggling, unemployed family-man-turned-petty-thief (Lawrence), and that's when he loses his cool completely. He takes the carjacker hostage and recruits him on a road-trip scheme of revenge against his wife and boss. Plotting to break into his boss's high-security vault, Robbins gets a criminal assist from Lawrence, but they're also on the run from another pair of would-be thieves who trail them to the vault's location. The routine plot is occasionally limp and sluggish, but writer-director Steve Oedekerk (who makes a wacky cameo appearance as a security guard) mines comedy gold during several scenes that detour from the plot for the sake of sheer lunacy. Robbins and Lawrence have great comedic chemistry (if you can tolerate Lawrence's constant profanity), and although the movie ends on a false note with some unlikely turns of fate, it's definitely good for more than a few solid laughs. --Jeff Shannon

Too funny! February 5, 2010 Teresa M. Larsen (Carlsbad, CA) This movie is hilarious. My family and I have watched it over and over.
Nothing to Laugh At - February 2, 2010 Loyd E. Eskildson (Phoenix, AZ.) This is a forced comedy with nothing to laugh at. The premise is funny and that is about it. I was hoping for belly laughs but hardly smiled. It was sort of "Odd Couple" mixed with a male duo "Thelma and Louise" .
Nothing to lose revolves around corporate marketing man Nick (Tim Robbins) who thinks his wife is cheating on him when he comes home earlier than expected. He is devastated and does not care what happens to him once his world falls apart. So he just drives away ending up in the bad part of town. A robber named "T.Paul" (Martin Lawrence) then jumps into Nick's SUV and threaten him with a gun. For some strange reason he throws his billfold out the window and says you picked the wrong man on the wrong day. From there on it is a wild and goofy journey from the L.A. slums to the Arizona desert and then back to L.A. to do a "Big Job".
The many fights and dumb scenes are just not funny or clever. The movie never clicks for plot or jokes.
DISAPPOINTED January 24, 2010 Floyd T. Johnson I was disappointed that it was the widescrren version and not the regular version. I didn't order the wide scrren one bu t was sent it, so maybe that is the only version you have.
Nothing to Lose October 20, 2009 Theresa Bartomeo (Wisconsin) I had been wanting to buy this DVD for a while and had a hard time finidingit until I visited Amazon.com. I received it in less then a week after ordering it.
Another Childhood Favorite!!! June 14, 2009 Pumpkin Man Ever since I saw this at the theatre when I was 7 years old, this has been one of my favorite movies! Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence were awesome together! Robbins plays an advertising executive named Nick Beam who has a pretty good life and an awesome wife. One day when he comes home, he thinks he sees his wife and his boss having sex. After going into deep depression, he is almost mugged by a man named T. Paul. Nick turns the tables and kidnaps the robber. They soon become friends and come up with a plan to rob Nicks boss. They soon must deal with a pair of bad guys who also want the money. I highly recommend NOTHING TO LOSE!!!
