| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Judge Dredd is one of those movies that doesn't have a brain of its own, so it can only rip off a lot of ingredients from other, better movies. It's a mishmash of Blade Runner, Total Recall, and The Road Warrior, with a dash of Star Wars tossed in for good measure. As if that weren't enough, it's got Sylvester Stallone, who seems to be the only one in the movie who's in on the game and knows it's all a sci-fi scam. Like The Fifth Element a few years later, Judge Dredd depicts a futuristic megalopolis packed with crowded vertical overgrowth and rampant commerce, where anarchy reigns supreme. Violent "block wars" are fought by lawless citizens with machine guns, and Judge Dredd (Stallone) is one of the city's heavily armed policemen, given free rein to judge and execute the perpetrators of violence. But Dredd himself is subjected to judgment and swift justice when his own gun is identified in the murder of a prominent TV reporter, forcing him to do whatever he can to clear his name. Diane Lane plays his partner in crime-fighting and romance, and Rob Schneider provides juvenile comic relief as Dredd's streetwise sidekick. Impressive special effects are on vivid display, and the movie's fun for what it's worth. Lower your expectations and you just might enjoy it. --Jeff Shannon

Stone-cold Stallone film. January 30, 2010 Brice L. Korte (Summerdale, Al.) My copy got to the point that it had more bad spots then film. Time for another copy.
Judge Dredd January 2, 2010 Arnita D. Brown (USA) Judge Dredd is a legendary futuristic lawman renowned for his iron-fisted procedures. When Dredd is framed for murder by his enigmatic arch-rival, the entire planet finds itself on a deadly collision course which only the fearless judge can alter. Engineering a dramatic escape from the shuttle carrying him to his space imprisonment, Dredd sets out on a dangerous mission to stop the perpetrator from taking control and in the process discovers a startling secret about his own origins. Very well-done action movie. Definitley worth watching over and over.
Where is the Blu-Ray Version? December 1, 2009 Jack455 Judge Dredd is an awesome movie, but I wish they would make a Blu-Ray version. The action, characters, and plot are all great for this kind of movie.
prepare to be judged August 17, 2009 Douglas S. Petersen (seattle, WA USA) It would be impossible for me to sum up the love i have for this movie, organize that love into a linear written account, and then fit it all on the space provided here. What can possibly be said about the Judge? The whole premise is that in the future "One man is judge, jury, and executioner" and that one man is Stallone. Prepare yourself for a whirl-wind adventure packed full of witty one-liners from Stallone, Assante, and Shneider. A guaranteed delight to anyone who buys it. Highly recommend to anyone who considers their dvd collection to be worth a grain of salt.
Great Movie May 5, 2009 Faith Silverwolf (S. Wa) I have loved this Movie since i was a teenager. I watched it over and over again. Stallone does a wonderful job playing Judge Dredd.
