Leading Man October 21, 2008 Mystery Iris (Milwaukee, WI) I made a mistake with this purchase buying a DVD that wouldn't play on a US machine. I eventually bought it on VHS though. Interesting movie with lots of intrigue. Not JBJ's best work, though one very hot scene with the beautiful Thandie Newton in her first screen appearance
A wonderful, delightful little film January 17, 2008 Candice Hawkinson (Memphis, TN United States) The Leading Man is what every indie film should be - well written, perfect casting, great directing. Though the draw is Bon Jovi, it is the way the film plays that is so good. I highly recommend this film.
Clever movie... a Must have for Jon Bongiovi fans! August 6, 2005 Bon Jovi Fan (USA) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I agree with the positive reviews on this one. The plot and humor are clever and Jon plays Robin Grange well - he makes a devious character quite likeable. If you want to see a lot of Jon, you shouldn't pass on this movie. It took me forever to get through the entire movie because I kept rewinding certain parts where Jon looked especially yummy or said something rather funny. A lot of dry wit and a nice touch of suspense and irony at the end. Well worth the money. Some nudity, unfortunately, not Jon's (grin).
Bon Jovi is perfectly cast March 25, 2005 Sonny (BMORE) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Bon Jovi may not be a Shakespearean actor, but he has chops enough to play a smarmy American that easy to hate, and even easier to envy. The film may be nothing more a series of ruses, but it is fun to watch the actors work. Thandie Newton is particularly good as the object of the playwright's affection, who nearly succumbs to the wicked charms of the awful American. Bon Jovi oozes with fake charm and star quality persona, which is exactly what the role called for. This nothing more than diverting entertainment, but it is fun nonetheless.
interesting...not much more to say January 11, 2004 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
okay, i've read most of the other reviews for this movie and had high expectations for it. i mainly wanted to see it for jon bon jovi, maybe because he is really HOT. anyway, i was a little disappointed, but it was an overall job well done. i'm just going to state the fact that i'm only a teenager, which explains why i found a couple of scenes awkward. to make it short and simple, i would recommend that you only watch this movie before you turn out the lights to make it more interesting. in my opinion of course, you may have your own
