Product Description WHEN RHODE ISLAND POLICEMAN CHARLIE BAILEYGATES DEVELOPS A SPLIT PERSONALITY DISORDER, HE GOES FROM GENTLE TO MENTAL. BUT SOON, CHARLIE FALLS CRAZY IN LOVE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL IRENE AND MUST BATTLE FOR HER AFFECTIONS WITH HANK, HIS FOUL-MOUTHED, OVERSEXED ALTER EGO.
Amazon.com In Me, Myself & Irene, Jim Carrey plays Charlie Baileygates, a cop for the best police force in the world (Rhode Island). In denial about his wife's affair, he's a nice guy who goes around trying to do the right thing but is taken advantage of every step of the way. Instead of confronting people, he takes the abuse, balls it up, and hides it in the pit of his stomach. His psyche can only take so much, though, and soon his alter-ego Hank pops out to do every libidinous thing Charlie would never do. It's a great premise for a Jim Carrey film. Unfortunately, it's not a great Jim Carrey film. Famous for the lowbrow, shock comedies like Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, and There's Something About Mary, here the Farrelly brothers get lost in a series of lazy gags and an even lazier plot about some evil golf development and the woman, Irene (Renée Zellweger), who needs to be protected because she knows something about it. Some of the jokes hit (there's a bathroom scene that's 10 times funnier than the hair-gel gag in There's Something About Mary), but many more miss. There are some great concepts (his three sons are hip-hop geniuses) that don't go anywhere (they swear a lot). It's like the movie itself has a split personality--funny ideas trapped in a less-than-funny film. --Andy Spletzer

pure entertainment January 3, 2010 B. E Jackson (Pennsylvania) Jim Carrey has always been known as one of the finest and funniest comedians of our generation.
He continues to deliver with the constant laughs with Me, Myself & Irene.
The storyline is that he has a split personality, which means throughout the film he turns into a completely different person, and this is where most of the laughs come from.
His three naughty sons with some VERY bad language are also the highlight of the movie. They constantly say bad words, and are absolutely hilarious.
I have no idea how I somehow missed this funny movie when it was first released, but watching it last night, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality, storytelling, the frequent laughs, and Jim Carrey's ability to continue entertaining me.
Carrey's split personality also means lots of hilarious insults being thrown towards innocent people, haha.
The chicken in the rear-end part was the funniest part of the entire movie, along with the part where Carrey couldn't use the bathroom properly because of... something he did the previous night, haha.
I also like the beginning part where he gets revenge against this little girl playing jump rope on the street, and revenge against his neighbor who keeps stealing his morning paper in the yard, haha.
Real quality and real laughs make up Me, Myself & Irene.
Sleeper December 31, 2009 K. Rose (Chicago) This movie is hilarious and definitely under appreciated. I'm not the type of person who likes to watch movies over and over, but this one is actually really good for that! At the end of the night when you just want to throw something on, maybe not even watch all of it - this is a great go-to.
Several laughs:
- Charlie's very tan children
- The road kill cow that won't die
- The worst case of dry mouth you've ever seen
- Hank's "supplies"
- etc. etc!
Me,Myself & Irene{Vhs} November 9, 2009 Jose Lopez (Miami,Florida USA) Me,Myself & Irene VHS- Hilarious yet disturbing, foul-mouthed funny, good laughs, and At the same time makes you angry for what the poor guy goes through in the movie. No wonder. Very Funny although not as good as other jim 's Films and certainly not in my opinion his Masterpieces: Ace 1 &2.

I bought this movie on the advice of my fiance' and best friend. It is one of the most inane pieces of drivel I ever started to watch, and a total waste of money!!!!! I didn't finish watching it and never will.
Most sincerely,
jori

After 10 minutes the movie just stopped and wouldn't continue. I couldn't see the rest of it and no longer had the receipt so I couldn't send for a refund or an exchange.
