Amazon.com Following their animated/live action hit Space Jam, Warner Bros. jumped into the fully animated feature competition by playing it safe, giving the Arthurian legend a conspicuously Disneyesque facelift. Ingredients from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Pocahontas are evident in the tale of a girl named Kayley (Jessalyn Gilsig) whose father, a Knight of the Round Table, is killed by Sir Ruber (Gary Oldman), a maniacal brute who steals Excalibur and threatens to seize King Arthur's Camelot. Kayley enlists the blind, reclusive knight-aspirant Garrett (Cary Elwes) to brave the Enchanted Forest and retrieve the magic sword, and their adventure is (of course) fraught with danger. Adding extra punch to the movie's commercial appeal, the soundtrack songs are performed by big names like LeeAnn Rimes and Celine Dion. And if that's not enough to hold a kid's attention, there's a two-headed dragon ("we're the reason cousins shouldn't marry") voiced by Eric Idle and Don Rickles. With so much talent involved, it's entertaining but uninspired, although cleverly harmless riffs from Dirty Harry, Taxi Driver, and other movies spice up the adventure with enjoyable pop-culture references. --Jeff Shannon

Fun! February 26, 2010 CR in LA (Los Angeles) Discovered this movie quite by accident but what fun!
While searching for a song (The Prayer), I learned that it was in the soundtrack of this animated movie ('toon). Then, the fates decided I needed to see the movie and I came across it one quiet afternoon on TV.
The movie has the usual good guys/bad guys theme but the characters are different than usual.
I found the best character to be the siamese twin dragon Devon/Cornwall which is voiced by Eric Idle and Don Rickles. The animation of this character and the animation of the voicing are worth the price of admission alone.
Also delivering a solid performance is Gary Oldman as Ruber (the villian). Quite scary in this early version of "going postal."
The Commanding Chief! February 2, 2010 Senator Jensen (right here) In any case, this would be the evening in question. It was a case of bait and switch, but we had yet to fully realize it. I grabbed my favorite copy of "Cap'n" Camelot, Jason found his stick of Juicy Fruit (as it were) and we were "on our way!" At least this was not the director's cut (we had not prepared for THAT); I can honestly say it was the finest cat-based re-enactment of the Kennedy family Thanksgiving I had ever seen! Can't wait for it to re-hit theaters. Incredibly rec'd.
i stand alone <3 January 5, 2010 JOURNEY TO (NYC) love love love it. i can seriously watch it a million times and not get sick. unfortunately it's so underrated, loved it then, love it now. if and when i have kids i will definitely show it to them. best investment.
