 The Three Musketeers June 24, 2009

What an awesome movie. Perhaps the best version of The Three Musketeers ever made. The cast is excellent. It has a variety of things to keep your attention. Comedy, Action, and Suspense like no other. Rebecca Demornay is absolutely stunning in this movie. I highly recommend you add to your collection if you don't already own this.
 A Forgettable Three Musketeers For Kids of the 90s May 1, 2009

Even without Richard Lester's far better Three Musketeers movies shot 20 years before to compare to, this film is forgettable in its own right with no comparison to any 3 Musketeer movie needed.
Some people here are complaining negative critics are riding a high horse over this film but it's well that they should.
Why?
*Bad acting or rather no acting on the part of some and over-acting beyond the call of duty or humor by others.
*A storyline that is ridiculous and no where near the book or believable for that matter.
*Too many 90s cliches and soundbites that make viewing today rather embarrassing as it just seems so dated.
If you are a parent and you love your children, show them the 70s musketeers movies because then they might actually do decently on a test on that subject whereas this Disney version will just mess them up historically and "literaturally." The 70s version despite the slapstick sticks very close to the original story and therefore would be of better use as a study aid than this dreck of a film.

FYI, this is not anamorphic and will not fit to your widescreen TV. Wait for a better release if that is important to you. Only rating the DVD release, not the movie.

We have watched all the Three Musketeers. The one with Gene Kelly is the best. You cannot beat Gene Kelly's dancing and acrobats. This movie rates second. It is a wonderful tribute to the other one. Lots of laughs and just plain funny with great acting.
