Product Description A RESEARCH TEAM IS SENT TO THE JURASSIC PARK SITE B ISLAND TO STUDY THE DINOSAURS THERE WHILE ANOTHER TEAM APPROACHES WITHANOTHER AGENDA.
Amazon.com In the low tradition of knockoff horror flicks best seen (or not seen) on a drive-in movie screen, Steven Spielberg's sequel to Jurassic Park is a poorly conceived, ill-organized film that lacks story and logic. Screenwriter David Koepp strings along a number of loose ideas while Jeff Goldblum returns as Ian Malcolm, the quirky chaos theoretician who now reluctantly agrees to go to another island where cloned dinosaurs are roaming freely. Along with his girlfriend (Julianne Moore) and daughter, Malcolm has to deal with hunters, environmentalists, and corporate swine who stupidly bring back a big dino to Southern California, where it runs amok, of course. Spielberg doesn't seem to care that the pieces of this project don't add up to a real movie, so he hams it up with big, scary moments (with none of the artfulness of those in Jurassic Park) and smart-aleck visual gags (a yapping dog in a suburb mysteriously disappears when a hungry T-rex stomps by). A complete bust. --Tom Keogh

Wonderful February 6, 2010 Cindy (Nasville, TN) Bought for 6 year old grandson. He had been waiting for it so of course he loved it.He had the other 2 movies and I could not find in stores with out packaged with the other 2.I was very pleased with the fast shipping service. Arrived for Christmas, even though shipping info said it could arrive after.Great price!
Better than most reviews February 5, 2010 D. Santos (Milwaukee, WI, USA) if anyone from amazon.com is going to review a film they should try to sound unbiased and try not to bash a film. Anyways I am a huge fan of Dinos so i enjoyed this one....probably more then the other two. graphics look good, storyline was fine, really people need to be less picky and try to actually enjoy the film
Better Than The Book, At Least January 8, 2010 The JuRK (Our Vast, Cultural Desert) I was a huge fan of the first JURASSIC PARK book. Michael Crichton said he spent 20 years thinking of his "dinosaur story" and the novel runs like a well-oiled machine. My disappointment in the film version is due to the "cutesy" florishes of the filmmakers, mostly involving the kids and Laura Dern pressuring Sam Neill into having a family. Distracting. The main point of the story is DON'T GET EATEN but yet we have to suffer through Sam Neill getting in touch with his paternal instincts with those darn adorable kids. I wished they'd stuck closer to the novel.
Crichton spent 20 years on JURASSIC PARK. The novel's sequel, THE LOST WORLD, reads like he spent 20 minutes on it. Read rushed. Didn't like it.
Then they make the movie version. Fortunately, most of the novel is jettisoned but it still doesn't make for a whole lot of improvement. In fact, what's memorable are the head-scratching choices that don't make much sense. The casting for Jeff Goldblum's daughter? I remember watching the movie and thinking, "Oh, that's right...Spielberg has adopted at least one African-American kid, so THAT'S why." It's never addressed or explained so it ends up being distracting. I was more curious about that than the trip to the second dinosaur island. That they were able to work in her gymnastics talent was hokey and unbelievable.
The other big head-scratcher: who killed the crew on the ship that deposits a T-Rex on the streets of San Diego?
People might complain that I'm being too picky. I don't think so. I demand more from movies. If I'm getting knocked out of the story from unbelievable plotting, unexplained casting choices, and just downright sloppy movie-making, I don't believe that's my fault.
The special effects have certainly become more sophisticated. So should the writing.
Jp 2 November 9, 2009 David A. Smith (Webberville, Mi, USA) JP 2 is awesome Steven spielberg brings you back to jp, in the sequale to the smash hit. jp 2 is pretty good. i love this movie and so will you. recommend it for everyone
Its about time October 26, 2009 K. Cheshire I have really enjoyed all of the Jurassic Park movies. I am egerly awaiting the forth installment if it is really going to exist. The only really great thing I can say is that its about time someone started carrying the Full Screen version. What good is wide screen if a person don't have one.
