Description A comedy of discriminating taste and dirty little secrets. When a movie star and Hollywood diva Miranda Frayle break up, a playboy prince with a stiff upper lip sweeps her off her feet and boldly takes her home to meet his high-class, society-minded mother, who is none-too-pleased at the thought of having a "starlet" in the family. But when the former boyfriend hears about the wedding, he jumps back in the spotlight--and with the help of Miranda's meddling mother-in-law to be, he may just win her back.

Witty September 7, 2009 Timocpa (Seattle, WA) Just a great all around movie. This is the second time I bought the movie the first time I let a friend have it and never saw it again. It was so good I had to buy it again.
Delightful look into society May 4, 2009 Susan Carson I caught part of this movie a few times, but had never seen it in its entirety. However, after buying it and viewing it, I loved it. It was such a delightful romp.
Love This One! March 29, 2009 V But then I'm old enough to remember 1953.....vaguely. The soundtrack is smart, the dialogue is quick and funny, and the 50's wardrobe harks back to Hollywood's heyday.
It's all great fun, and yes, I have to say it -- Colin Firth is a hoot as the gay cousin. But among the wonderful performances by the Brits is Sophie Thompson's Moxie. It's a gem.
BAD PAN AND SCAN March 1, 2009 A.K.A. Me (The Great Southwest) I bought this because I'd seen it on dish. It's fluff but fun, watered-down Oscar Wilde wannabe, but I love Colin Firth, so I wanted to add it to my collection. But I was REALLY disappointed that this is NOT wide screen, but a BAD pan and scan. It seems that this is the only version available. What a letdown.
Relative Values March 21, 2007 Frances C. Mejias Loved this film! Julie Andrews & Colin Firth make the film! Very witty & fast-paced!
