Amazon.com In an attempt to catch lightning in a bottle, Monty Python veteran John Cleese wrote this slapstick farce for the purpose of reuniting the comedic cast of A Fish Called Wanda. Fierce Creatures is all about a media mogul (Kevin Kline) who owns a London zoo. He demands that the park raise more profit, so the new zoo director (Cleese) orders that only dangerous animals be displayed in order to maximize ticket sales. In a dual role, Kline also plays the mogul's son, who plans to run the zoo with the help of displaced employees (including Michael Palin) and zoo programmer Willa Weston (Jamie Lee Curtis). The situation lends itself to comedic confusion and split-second timing, and for a few good laughs the film is a pretty safe bet. It's not as hilarious as A Fish Called Wanda (that's a pretty tall order), but Cleese knows comedy, and his efforts are worth a look. --Jeff Shannon

Fierce Creatures is Fiercly Funny! March 19, 2009 Denise A. Kuehner (South Bend, IN USA) Monty Python fans will really appreciate the brilliant comedic performance by John Cleese. Joining him are "A Fish Called Wanda" castmates Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline. This is insanely clever, full of inuendos and ironic twists that will make you laugh and laugh and laugh some more. This is my familie's favorite flick ( my children are 17 and 19) and a real sleeper because no one seems to know about it. Kevin Kline fans will love his duel role as both father and son. The whole zoo business makes it even funnier. Fans of English humor with simply love this movie.
Continuation on Fish Called Wanda June 24, 2008 Licinda Jean Mytych (Baltimore, Maryland) If you loved "A Fish Called Wanda" you will love this movie. So incredibly funny I laugh so hard even though I've seen it over a dozen times. All the characters mesh so well and the story line is beyond hilarious. It's on my "must have" list.
Funny movie June 23, 2008 Gretchen A. Kennedy I loved this movie when it first came out, and it was great to see it again. The quality was really good too.
Not a Fish Called Wanda March 26, 2008 Charles L. Briere (macon, ga) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although Fierce Creatures has some fairly funny situations, it lacks the side splitting laughs delivered by Wanda. Overall, it's not a bad movie. For Wanda lovers though, this follow up movie might be a bit of a disappointment.
Very Funny March 26, 2008 ASL Lexicon (New Jersey) Cute and funny. Story line is a little weak, but the laughs gets you through the rough spots.
