Amazon.com Like, radical, dude--but not nearly as funny as it should be, even though it was a box-office hit. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are a pair of dim Valley boys, whose life is made heinous by a school history project. Enter George Carlin as a futuristic dude with a time-traveling phone booth. So Bill and Ted go back in time to round up a gang of historical figures (Socrates, Joan of Arc) to bring back for their presentation. Abe Lincoln at the mall? That's about as witty as it gets, rendering this the kind of comedy that gives teenaged audiences a bad name. --Marshall Fine

Words Cannot Express This Most Excellent Movie May 15, 2009 Untitled (nowhere) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is only one word to describe this most excellent movie: Excellent! *air guitar*. NOthing beats this hilarious movie about two high-school slackers. This is hands down the funnest, funniest pair of friends ever. If only there was a pair as lovable and hilarious as this in our high schools, High School would be a lot better for most of us. Not to mention all of the kick-@$$ one-liners abound. "Those are Historical Babes", "You Gotta Have A poker Face, like me", "69 Dudes!", "excellent!". "Shut Up Ted", "Bogus!", "Iron Maiden? Excellent!". Their antics are also hilarious, as watching them try to jam at the beginning (and blow out the amps) is priceless. Geeze, could I be any more blunt? This is an all time classic that deserves to be loved. Napolean Dynamite wishes it could be this funny. The funniest deadpan humor movie ever.
Valley boys. January 16, 2009 ADRIENNE MILLER (TENNESSEE) Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was a film I saw at the drive-in when I was little and I loved this silly comedy to pieces. Even back then Keanu Reeves stood out, you knew he was gonna be a big star, Alex Winter... he didn't have the same luck. This film is dumb but funny, the late George Carlin stars in this as well. This comedy is totally righteous, check it out dudes!
3 stars out of 4 December 20, 2008 One-Line Film Reviews (Ann Arbor) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Bottom Line: Glibly playing fast and loose with time travel paradoxes and history, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is an amusing romp that never takes itself too seriously and is all the better for it--highly recommended to anyone who wants to see Keanu Reeves impress Socrates with the observation of "All we are is dust in the wind."
Thanks so much! September 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
