Smart, funny, first class work -- but most of all, achingly romantic. December 18, 2009 Mitchell Strickler (Washington, DC) The "Thirty-Something," "My So-called Life" team of Zwick and Herskovits turned out another intelligent, well-written, deep yet funny show in "Relativity." The ensemble cast was perfectly chosen. Jane Adams and Adam Goldberg, for example, are well respected actors, although not flashy "stars." And then there was Kim (Williams, now Williams-Paisley). She should have won Best Dramatic Actress but for the show's low ratings. (It was won by good work in a hot show, "West Wing".) Vulnerable and vivacious. Never more purely beautiful.
I tracked down off-the-air VCRs around the world for years until I had a complete set. Complete with a Canadian storm warning interrupting the sexiest scene in the series, that is, and some tapes that were almost worn out before I transferred them to DVD. Now I mark my calendar each year, and watch the 17 episodes all over.
"Relativity" itself had devoted fans, so have Kim and other cast members, and the other Zwick/Herskofits shows. That should add up to an audience that will snap up this reissue -- not by the millions, but enough to pay for makinge DVDs. Please, do it!
How can they not release a tv show from the makers of My So Called Life on dvd????? September 24, 2009 L. Berry (nyc) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just release it. Film some interviews, dig up some old commercials, put it in a box set that costs $100 and Id still buy it. Im going to be forced to put all my vhs episodes on a dvdr and offer them for free with the purchase of a pencil on ebay!!! ABC and 20th Century Fox? Come on. They must have so much money they arent hurting from this economy.
Need to release on DVD! August 2, 2009 Crystal Carley (Snellville, GA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I watched this show as a teenager when it was on ABC, and I loved it! I was so sad when it got canceled. The romances had chemistry between the partners, the writing was good, good actors! I hope this gets released!
The most romantic pilot ever produced. March 12, 2009 R. Baker (Dallas, TX USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I consider this show's pilot (where I fell head over heels for David Conrad!) to be the most romantic story ever produced for network television. I have been looking for this series in ANY form (torrents, streaming, video tape, bootleg, you name it) for nearly 10 years with no luck. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this available to us fans. Thanks!
