Illegal Tender July 28, 2009 M & M Family I enjoyed the movie even though the plot wasn't realistic. The relationship and bond between mother and son reinforces what family is about in todays society and I enjoyed that part of the movie.
I give this movie one star for Rick Gonzalez's cuteness, July 28, 2009 kittykins (boston, ma) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
not his acting ability. Wanda, who I think is a veteran actress, reminded me of a curvey version of Cher, attitude with no direction. This movie had some potential, the story wasen't great, but, could have been told as the movie progressed not thrown out at the audience in the last scene. The mother never seemed to work, but yet alway had nice houses in high end neighborhoods, the older son went to college, dressed well, had a nice car, and a goofy, whiney girlfriend. Were did the the little brother come from, did mom remarry at some point? And, if this mother was so concerned about protecting her "babies" change your name, dye your hair, maybe dress like a mom and not a coochie plus she's got bullets flying around them instead of drawing the thugs away from the house. Although, I have to give credit were credit's due, she did buy Microsoft when it was low, and had a sound investment portfolio.
Illegal Tender is a great movie!!! June 11, 2009 S. Howard If you are a fan of John Singleton's movies, then you will definitely love this movie. Plus it helps I love Rick Gonzalez!!! You must see this movie!!
Action Packed November 16, 2008 Man of Vision (Atlanta,GA) This movie has a latino cast and is in the same genre of film as Carlito's Way and Scarface. It's urban comtemporary and enjoyed it thoroughly.

I have to agree that whoever liked this film either has a stake in it or knows very little about movies. Other than the fact that Wanda was REALLY hot, it was honestly ridiculous. The acting was terrible, the plot waa hole-ridden, and it made no sense whatever. If I were Hispanic, I'd be ashamed of this thing.
