Amazon.com Not nearly as good as the original French comedy, Three Men and a Cradle, upon which this is based, Three Men and a Baby nevertheless is decent brain candy directed with some crackle by Leonard Nimoy. Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson star as three swinging bachelor roommates who find a baby girl on their doorstep--the daughter of Danson's character (who doesn't know about her) by a woman (Nancy Travis) with whom he had a brief fling. The jokes about dirty diapers and feeding schedules are predictable, but the film gains real warmth from Selleck, who does a convincing job playing a fellow whose life is changed for the better by added responsibility. A distracting subplot involving some bad guys threatens to derail everything, and the ending is a bit unconvincing as filmed, but the virtues of this movie finally win out over its weaknesses. --Tom Keogh
Product Description A remake of the hit French comedy "Trois Hommes et un Couffin" ("Three Men and a Cradle") about a trio of confirmed bachelors who unexpectedly discover the joys of fatherhood when a baby is left on their doorstep. The three men -- an actor, an architect and a cartoonist -- share a swanky pad where they entertain a steady succession of one-night stands. This all changes when a woman appears at their apartment one day with the actor's illegitimate infant. Dad happens to be out of town at the time, so it's up to his two woefully inexperienced roommates to deal with the baby that has been abandoned to their care.

Misled May 23, 2009 StrawbField4Ever DVD was advertised as "New, sealed in package", yet the security tape was cut and a new one was put on in a different spot, and there were big fingerprints all over the disc, so I highly doubt it was "brand new", it appeared to have been resealed. But the movie played fine.
Precious. March 5, 2009 ADRIENNE MILLER (TENNESSEE) Three Men and a Baby starring Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenberg was a childhood favorite of mine. This film is delightful, funny, and special from beginning to end. Selleck really carries the film and I never thought of him as a magnetic actor. I never cared for the sequel so I just recommend this one instead. Enjoy!

I hate this movie April 25, 2008 Akemi (Rockland, MA United States) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Yes, it's a comedy, but it's just not funny watching 3 men act like silly fratboys with a baby. First of all, it's irresponsible. It drives me crazy how not only does the mother not know who the father is, but the rest of the men don't remember sleeping with this woman. That is just so irresponsible and annoying. Especially considering the day and age this movie was set in. Yes, I am being too serious about a movie. I know, but it's still an extremely silly and aggravating film except for the adorable little baby.
