Excellent, but not complete June 7, 2008 Dr. Paul R. Terry (Bedworth, Warwickshire United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I saw this series when it was first shown over 20 years ago on British TV. I remembered quite a bit, but I noticed that at least three characters mentioned in the story and/or pictured in the extras are not included in the version released here. A suffragette woman that Richard falls for, and characters played by Roy Barraclough & Lila Kaye are all missed out. Presumably this was to fit the Masterpiece Theatre time-slot. I'm not sure how much is missing, I would guess about 45 minutes, so although it's very good, I can only give it 4 stars, but don't be put off!
Lost Empires March 26, 2008 Marion L. Richards (Lee's Summit, Mo.) Thought it was very good, and, Colin Firth was truly a very good actor.
Looking forward to seeing more of him in the near future.

this is a very good series, however i would not pay over $25 for it. this is not rare or even hard to find! go order it from your local video store it cost $30 from them. but profitering on an item that is not even the least bit difficult to obtain you have got to be kidding!!!!!
If I EVER get to see it .. I might just like it February 15, 2007 B. Flamenco (San Francisco, California United States) 5 out of 16 found this review helpful
Beware .. I ordered this item November 16, 2006 and I STILL do not have it.. the deadline keeps getting pushed up and I have to keep renewing my order. I am VERY disappointed. If you are planning to buy this for a loved one or a special date, don't bother. I would not be surprised if I don't have it by Fall this year.
