Description This hip, off-the-wall comedy about a slacker on the trail of a serial killer has been hailed as an "instant cult classic." Kurt "Dirt" Merchant (Danny Masterson) thinks he's going to make it big in the music biz, but instead gets fired by his sleazy boss and dumped by his luscious girlfriend. When Dirt discovers the body of a famous grunge rock star, he's framed for the murder. Forced to find the killer, he soon plunges into a sex and danger-filled journey through Hollywood's seedy underbelly. Many familiar faces are featured in this top-notch cast, including David Faustino ("Married with Children"), David DeLuise ("Jessie"), Anthony Michael Hall, Tim Thomerson and Brion James, in roles that may surprise you. A new kind of detective story with a sexy, rock 'n' roll edge, a dark sense of humor and a very mean chainsaw, "Dirt Merchant" really cleans up.

| Customer Reviews: NO GOOD! September 6, 2007 THIS MOVIE'S TERRIBLE!IT'S NOT A FUNNY COMEDY-IT'S A STUPID COMEDY.IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.JENNA JAMESON'S THE ONLY ONE WHO MADE THIS MOVIE INTERESTING.IF IT WASN'T FOR HER-THIS MOVIE SHOULD BE IN THE TRASH.HER PARTS WERE FUNNY AND CUTE.JENNA'S AN EXCELLENT ACTRESS!I LIKED THE PART IN THE END WHEN JENNA STABBED DIRT WITH A NEEDLE.THAT WAS CUTE AND FUNNY.THERE'S NOT TOO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THIS MOVIE.IT WASN'T REALLY ANY GOOD TO TALK ABOUT.

Low-tech, high times December 31, 2005 Comedy Buff (Austin to Boston) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sure the film is lacking in visual and audio clarity, but the performances, writing and attitude are top-notch and original. Great little cult comedy. They should remake it with a bigger budget in fact.
Great Movie! August 14, 2003 R. Stringini (Addison, IL United States) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Ok, this has to be one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long LONG time. The cast was amazing (even Jenna Jameson does a good job with her part) and the writing was witty and quick. Plus the plot moves, all nudity and sex is handled tastefully (I honestly think there is only like ten seconds of actually nudity in the film, and most of the time it is hidden from view!). Plus the fact that Anthony Michael Hall has one of the best cameos in any movie, ever. Grab a copy soon. You won't regret it.
Call me... Dirt! July 2, 2002 Scott Sheets (Johnstown, PA USA) 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
Whether you want to refer to it as a 'B' movie or not, this movie is hilarious! Although the production values are lacking at times, the script is smartly done. The plot revolves around the capers of Dirt Merchant (Danny Masterson) trying to prove that he's innocent of a murder charge with the help of his buddies Sly (David DeLuise) and Sponge (David Faustino). Toss in a few cameos by Anthony Michael Hall and a heaping helping of adult film star/mainstream goddess Jenna Jameson and you've got yourself an enjoyable little cult movie! Pro: - Smart and hilarious script - Loads o' cameos - Jenna!Con: - Sometimes EXTREMELY poor production value - No extras on the DVD
