Vampire Junkie!!! May 20, 2009 M. Owens-Boyd (The Outer Fringe, U.S.A) Loved this movie!!!! Aaliyah did great in her role as Akasha, and the movie was entertaining. Great Soundtrack as well!!
Movie of the Damned May 17, 2009 M This movie so little resembled the book that it almost wasn't funny. There's no real reason given for Akasha's sudden thirst for world domination, the origins of vampirekind, the Royal Pair, and the Twins are never talked about, leaving us a movie with no real explanation as to why things happened the way they did. Maharet was a flat and disappointing character, and there is no Mekare in the film, which is rather disappointing as she was probably the one who triggered the creation of vampirekind in the book (and one of the most important characters, then) An extra half hour-45 minutes should have been tacked to the film to explain this backstory. Without it, this movie was just an empty tale with no real reason or meaning. The actors weren't terrible, I enjoyed Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend in their roles, but the movie itself had no real plot and was pointless to watch for anyone who enjoyed the book, and even those who didn't, because even without knowing the origins tale, this movie still comes across as having no real meaning.
Thank you!! May 12, 2009 Todd Frederick My product came days earlier than i thought and it was in great condition!!! thank you soo much!!
AKASHA QUEEN OF THE DAMNED RULES THE UNIVERSE May 8, 2009 Maryann Suchoski (FLORIDA, USA) THIS MOVIE TOTALLY ROCKS.. LESTAT IS AWESOME ... AKASHA IS FRIGHTENING.. LOVE IT
All I can say is... boring! May 7, 2009 I Like Cheesecake I am a huge Aaliyah fan so I thought I'd check this movie out. I'd never heard of Anne Rice before, so when I saw that most of the negative reviews were from the fans of Anne Rice I thought I might like it. Needless to say I was wrong. I found the plot boring and uneven, and the actors didn't do a very good job (except MAYBE Aaliyah, but she was only in like 3 scenes, even though she's the title character). Again, needless to say, watching this at 1 in the morning for the first (and probably last) time, I almost fell asleep. If the fact that movie was as bad as it was isn't funny enough, one of the guys who got his blood sucked by a vampire was credited as "Guy Being Sucked." How embarrassing.
