Product Description Movie DVD
Amazon.com This gentle comedy almost seems like something out of Hollywood's Golden Age, a movie that might have been made by a talented contract director, perhaps featuring Don Ameche and Claudette Colbert. But in fact it stars George Clooney as an investigative columnist for a New York newspaper and Michelle Pfeiffer as an architect. Both single parents, the two meet and bicker and develop a relationship over the course of a day while their young children play together. Michael Hoffman (Restoration) directs with a good sense of what's funny about harried caretakers and kids who do whatever they want to do. The story stretches out of shape a bit when Clooney's character has to rally to prove some point of corruption at City Hall; nobody involved seems quite up to making that subplot believable, but all that really matters about this very nice movie is the winning love story. --Tom Keogh

Absolutely the best soundtrack out there May 1, 2009 Larry This is the perfect compilation of music. The movie is great, but the soundtrack is outstanding. Perfect background music for a dinner party. Natalie Merchant's "One Fine Day" gives the song an entirely new feel. Ditto on Harry Connick Jr.'s take on Bacharach's "This Guy's In Love With You." And I particularly love Ella Fitzgerald's "Isn't It Romantic." And yes, it certainly is. One would think that Tina Arena's "Love's Funny That Way" would seem out of place with its country/pop feel, but it fits in nicely and compliments well those that surround it. This is one of those music compilations that you can listen to over and over and it never gets old.
Absolutely awful movie March 12, 2009 J. A. Vanderschaaf (Auckland, New Zealand) I absolutely hated this movie by the time it finished. I think it is those awful kids that need to be told exactly how things stand in the real world, instead of being told time and time again "Its not your fault." And the poor kitten. By the time the movie ended I would have thought with all that running round, its poor little brain would have been scrambled or it definately would have thrown up all over that awful childs chest. I hope people DO NOT take this as an example of how to look after a live animal... I know where I will be putting this movie!!
Perfect Movie For A Rainy Day January 13, 2009 Kimberly Nguyen (California, USA) Really Cute Movie..and absolutely perfect for a rainy day on the couch with a nice cup of Hot Chocolate. My absolute favorite movie of Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney. Movie Magic just blossoms with each scene..as these two deal with a whole day of absolute "craziness". I could watch this again and again. :)
One Fine Day Almost. January 9, 2009 Brent Hilton (Layton, Utah USA) What can say about One Fine Day it was ok; I wouldn't say it's the best either. While it has it's moments and is harmless besides some language in it. I found it to be quite bland most of the time. They were trying too hard I think to make chemistry with one another the actors I mean. The reason why watched this is Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney, while I like George's Character as the dad. Michelle's character as the single mom was one dimensional and unconvincing, only few spots does her character shine at all. It seemed like the screenwriter must've been going through something themselves. Because he or she forgot to make characters in this film that people actually care about, frankly this movie was a bore about the only interesting people in this picture was the single mom's mother, the editor. Too bad I want to like this picture it had the makings of a great one it just didn't cut it. I mean make the cut as a film I would recommend to people, I won't be recommending this one. Ughh I'd rather go to the dentist than watch this one again, sorry.
Soundtrack of One Fine Day October 8, 2008 C. C. Roy Received cd in timely fashion and in very good condition. Loved the movie and now enjoying the music at home and in the car.
