The Hank Ketcham comic strip about a mischievous boy named Dennis Mitchell (Mason Gamble) becomes a film directed by Nick Castle (The Last Starfighter) based on a weak script by John Hughes (The Breakfast Club). Gamble is fine and Walter Matthau is persuasive as the grouchy neighbor Mr. Wilson, but Hughes spoils everything by throwing in a formulaic subplot about a criminal (Christopher Lloyd) who doesn't know what he's getting into by abducting Dennis. I purchased a new copy of the movie "Dennis the Menace" with Walter Matthau. The price was very affordable (much less than even Walmart) and the movie package was in great condition when it arrived. It's arrival was also very quick and within the time that it was promised. I will continue to shop on Amazon.com in the future.

The best part of the movie is the chemistry between the little boy Dennis and grumpy Mr Wilson. I wish there are more plots depicting a closer relationship between these two funny characters, more witty conversation rather than too much bratty and mischievous acts.
All in all, Dennis the Menace is a light-hearted comedy I would recommend. I give it a 4 star because Home Alone is better :p
