    Editorial Reviews:

    Product Description
Trevor constists of diary excerpts narrated by their author, a buoyantly charming 13 year old (Brett Barsky) who loves to lip-sync to Diana Ross records, gets excited looking at photos of men, and develops a crush on the most popular boy in school, Pinky Faraday (Jonah Rooney), who befriends him. Trevor's world comes crashing down when his true feelings for Pinky are discovered. Mocked by classmates and branded a "fairy", Trevor is shunned by his new best friend and attempts to kill himself in a scene that is both heart wrenching and darkly funny, but as played by Brett Barsky, Trevor is no victim. You can be certain that his enthusiasm and developing sense of self will see him through.

5 out of 5 stars Looooooved this movie....   September 15, 2008

I saw this on cable years ago. It's funny, sweet, touching -- I was blown away and forced friends to watch who ended up loving it as well! It has its message but it earns the right to convey it by being massively entertaining. GOOD STUFF!

    "Trevor"

    Angst and Coming Our

    Amos Lassen

"Trevor" is a jewel of a film. It is a beautiful 17 minute short film that leaves you wanting more.
Trevor is a young boy being raised by parents who have no clue that he might be gay. We, however, see it right away. He is a wonderful boy who loves Diana Ross and Broadway show music. He is a high school in America of the 1970's and his life is centered on listening to records, hanging out with his friends and going to the movies. He doesn't like girls for social outings and pays careful attention to the boys in his class. People begin to make fun of him and Trevor, himself, begins to realize that he is gay. His friends do not want him around, his parents ignore him and his best friend Pinky tells him that he is a weak person. Trevor decides to kill himself but suddenly help comes in an unexpected form.
Trevor is resilient and it is his inner strength that makes this movie so good. The subject of sexuality and youth is treated sympathetically, probably because this is an issue that any thinking person will find disturbing. Here is a film that should be shown in high schools as it so beautifully looks at someone who is totally alone and is willing to kill himself because he feels so disconnected from everyone else and from life in general.
Young people will be able to identify with Trevor and the movie rakes a sensitive if blunt look at suicide. Even with its serious nature, "Trevor" entertains and has humor.
Even with its brevity, it is extremely well done Keeping in mind that it was made in 1994 and won the Academy Award, it is easy to see why and to understand its relevance today.

This is a charming and emotional little short about a subject matter that all teens really should see. I'd swear this film was a biography of my own life. Even the story's character shares my name. Definitely a must see.

5 out of 5 stars The best short film I've ever seen!   July 22, 2003

Get out the tissues and prepare to laugh. This short film was excellently written, directed and produced! So many people believed in this project and I see why.

This film is saving lives! It's teaching so many adults about what children go through in their young lives. It tells the story but doesn't make it heavy with depressing moments but lightens things up with humor. I cried at the end because of the joy I felt yet the sadness I felt as well because I knew that many children are still suffering today.

This should be a requirement for EVERYONE to see!

This was an enjoyable short film. The acting was very good and the story was well told. It's an up-lifting story that will make you smile and feel great. It's sweet and gives you a story that many will relate to about being or feeling out of place and looking for acceptance. It is fairly short, about 16 minutes of actual movie with an additional 5 minutes of introduction. I recommend this as a solid addition to your video collection because it's unusual and done very well. It is clean enough for mixed crowds of all ages. A good tool for enlightening narrow minds.
