Sol Goode March 8, 2007 Christine Zangari (NY, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
HAHAHA This is a very funny movie. These people are so conseeded and just so funny. Some of the funniest parts are at the end during the credits, where they show funny moments cut out of the movie. Laughing fits, and just plain crazy moments making the movie. One of my favorite actors, Jared Leto cracks me up in this movie. He is Co-Producer of this movie, and doesn't even give himself any credit. Although just a coupld of short scenes, just enough to make you pee yourself with laughter. He's just too funny. All the actors are fantastic in this movie. Just way too hilarious. A young named Sol Goode goes through his young life trying to be what he isn't. He is always auditioning for movie parts that he is not qualified for. Everyone wants a high paying job, and not having much to do to earn their money. He can't hold a job, a girl friend, and certainly never has money to pay his rent. He finally relized who he really is and accepts his destiny. In the end, it all comes together for him, but before going through his own struggles. His father, played by the very talented Robert Wagner, will not gieve his son a red cent to help him out, but rather he makes his son, Sol, find his way on his own. It's to teach him that what he is supposed to be doing in life is right in front of him. He just needs to discover it on his own, and learn to respect himself for WHO he really is. He does! But he does learn that where he actually comes from is where he belongs, and it's ok to be yourself. EXCELLANT MOVIE, ANOTHER 5* MOVIE IN MY OPINION. Highly recommended. I believe it's going out of print/circulation, so get it now. You'll love it if you love to laugh.

If you are still in high school you may like this.Same ole drink alot, chase girls, dribble, dribble. Very lame plot. Unless its a burial plot. which is where this movie should be. Nothing against high-schooler's. Save your money. Really!! Sol in spanish means Sun. There was no sun shinning on this waste of film.
One of the best... April 26, 2005 Fitzbitz (Philadelphia, PA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
...goofy, silly, but smart comedies that I've seen in a long time. The writing is excellent. The flow is solid. Just a perfectly absurd hour-and-a-half, along with a cute little love story that I'm sure lots of people could relate to. It's a shame this one isn't a lot bigger, but in a way it's good because we can all say we have a gem no one else knows.
A CULT CLASSIC July 12, 2004 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I can't believe it took me this long to find such a gem. Where did this flick come from and why wasn't it in theatres? Sol Goode blows away any of these romanic comedies that are getting released today. Lions Gate sure dropped the ball on this one. Anyway, if you are lucky enough to come across this review, run and don't walk to get a copy, you will thank me later. I thought the movie was absolutely hysterical. So many one liners I don't know where to start.

Suspend your filter for old-hand romance comedy genre tricks and this movie will have you rolling on the floor laughing. It's as sharp a portrayal of the LA Singles TwentySomething scene in 2000 as Swingers was for 1995. Laughing so hard at unexpected moments (try the DELETED SCENES section) made me giggle for days after. Why this movie wasn't better promoted is beyond me... I had to hear about it from a friend. I suspect SOL GOODE will go on to cult favorite status. Until then it's one of the best kept comedy secrets.
