Product Description A wise-cracking husband and wife team of ex-spies arrive in new orleans on maternity leave with their six month old baby girl Studio: Tcfhe/mgm Release Date: 04/01/2003 Starring: Kathleen Turner Tom Arnold Run time: 90 minutes Rating: Pg13 Director: Herbert Ross
Amazon.com When fun-loving American agents Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner are called back from maternity leave for a special assignment in New Orleans, the spy parents decide to skip the sitter and give their bouncing baby girl the adventure of a lifetime. There's nothing to the dumb story about a deadly arms dealer (Fiona Shaw) in the Louisiana Bayou, but you'd be hard put to find a friskier pair of doting parents. Quaid is all dimpled grins and cocky cool and Turner is the most maternal martial arts mom you've ever seen, but Stanley Tucci almost steals the film as the hot-blooded threat thug Morty ("That's Muerte!"). His macho mission of vengeance becomes pure slapstick silliness punctuated by girlish squeals of alarm. Dumb? Sure, but the deft comic direction of Herbert Ross and bubbly chemistry of Quaid and Turner make Undercover Blues far more fun that it should be. --Sean Axmaker

Supporting Cast Adds Spark June 22, 2009 Craig Connell (Lockport, NY USA)
There are enough laughs to make this worth seeing. There are enough odd characters, too. That's no surprise when you see the supporting cast: Stanley Tucci, Larry Miller, Fiona Shaw and Tom Arnold. All of them put added spark to the film. Tucci, as "Meurte," is most obvious as he continually tries to mug the leading couple, played by Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid. Miller plays a weird cop with a lisp and a very weird accent. I guess you could call this movie "quirky." Turner and Quaid are so smug as modern-day Nick and Nora Charles, you want to root for "Muerte" to succeed. Frankly, I never found Turner, except perhaps in "Body Heat," to be that alluring. However, I think she is an underrated comedienne. As a whole, this comedy is a little rough in spots, hence the PG-13 rating which often means more profanity than R-rated films. This is not for the kiddies, but adults will laugh.
good comedy May 15, 2009 Mr. M. Andrews verry funny movie. it had some flat spots but over all a verry good comedy.
VERY FUNNY April 17, 2009 S.D.S (MARYLAND) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner are very funny playing 2 semi retired spys trying to start a normal life with a baby. They are the best of the best and when they have to match wits with some local New Orleans thug lets just say they make him appear not even close to there level. A well made funny movie. Youll laugh at every scene with Morty.
Very funny should be on more people's must see list April 7, 2009 albionphoto (NJ USA) This is a marvellous comedy featuring Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid. I came upon it by accident on TV late one night and have been a fan ever since. Turner and Quaid work very well together and the villainess is a hammy overracted gem. The humour is gentle but persistent and mature in a way that it appeals to adults rather than 3 year olds. I think this film is underrated and deserves to be on more people's must see lists. My wife and I seldom agree on what is a good movie but we both like this one. The DVD transcription is okay but if you demand copious extras look elsewhere.
Enjoyable Comedy January 25, 2009 mac (PA) I had to get this one; it's a great comedy with humor throughout. If you're an action and comedy fan then this one is for you.
