| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Kate Hudson twinkles as the heroine of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a magazine writer assigned to date a guy, make all the mistakes girls make that drive guys away (being clingy, talking in baby-talk, etc.), and record the process like a sociological experiment. However, the guy she picks--rangy Matthew McConaughey--is an advertising executive who's just bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days; if he succeeds, he'll win a huge account that will make his career. The set-up is completely absurd, but the collision of their efforts to woo and repel creates some pretty funny scenes. McConaughey's easy charm and Hudson's lightweight impishness play well together and the plot, though strictly Hollywood formula, chugs along efficiently. At moments Hudson seems to channel her mother, Goldie Hawn, to slightly unnerving effect. --Bret Fetzer

maid for chick flick Hollywood product: romantic comedy June 9, 2009 R. Bagula (Lakeside, Ca United States) The hunk Matthew McConaughey as B.B. and Kate Hudson as A.A.: they just used the plot characters A and B to get a device where he has a bet and she has an article to write so they endure each other past the first few days of crazy stuff. Kate Hudson wears some amazing dresses that wouldn't have passed the old censors, but there is remarkably little real sex on screen here. I liked the movie: it is good light entertainment, but not real acting I suppose. People (mostly young females?) go to these to forget their own real world problems. I just can't give the movie ahigh rating as it is very predictable.
An Awesome Romantic Comedy!!! June 5, 2009 PUMPKIN MAN Maybe I'm getting soft, but I think this has a really good love story and hilarious situations! Andie Anderson is working on a column called "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." If she succeeds, she can have more freedom in writing. Benjamin Barry makes a bet with his boss that he can make a woman fall in love with him within 10 days. If he succeeds, he will be in charge of the new diamond company account. After a few days, Andi drives Ben crazy, while Ben makes it harder for Andi to do her job. Who will win? I highly recommend HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS!!!
