Amazon.com Killin' Them Softly is easily one of HBO's best comedy specials, catching star Dave Chappelle at a career high in 2000 and with an abundance of hysterical, highly polished material. Taking his time, stretching concepts and bits like a master, Chappelle plunges into a wealth of anecdotes and observations about the influx of white people into Washington, D.C. (where this show was recorded) since the 1980s. ("Who are the scariest people? White guys in black gangs. No telling what they did to get respect.") There are fantastic tales of racing cops with Chappelle's white friend, Chip, and a great story about being left alone in a limousine outside a busy crack house. Other good stuff: introducing a kid to a PePe Le Pew cartoon and realizing too late the skunk is a sex criminal, and why we should know our 911 calls will end up played on television. --Tom Keogh

I believe this DVD had a skip that I didn't like so I never got to finish it. Something was wrong with this DVD because I only watched it once and never again. I just can't remember what it was.
A classic, by a classic April 9, 2008 A legend who's work will stand for the ages, what more can I say? If you are reading this, you know who Dave is, and other than Godfrey or Jason Robinson, their aren't many CD's or DVD's that can measure up.
HILARIOUS April 23, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
DAVE CHAPPELLE TRULY IS ONE OF THE BEST COMEDIANS. THIS STAND-UP COMEDY DVD IS HILARIOUS. BUT NOW DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. THERE IS ANOTHER DVD THAT'S THE SAME SHOW BUT IN A DIFFERENT NAME "FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH". SO DON'T BUY BOTH CUZ IT'S THE SAME EXACT SHOW. I HAD "FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH" AND THEN I BROUGHT THIS ONE NOT KNOWING IT WAS THE SAME. BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE U GOTTA SEE. U WILL LAUGH YOUR HEART OUT
Killin' Them Softly March 11, 2007 Dave Chappelle is funny...this one has got to be one of his best stand-ups.
This is Dave Chapelles' Best Work! February 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD is so Hilarious. If you have seen his TV show....you havn't seen anything! His standup is so much better than his TV show. If you want to laugh and laugh, buy this. It is my favorite! My family has watched it over 10 times!
