Product Description Australia released, PAL/Region 0 DVD: it WILL NOT play on standard US DVD player. You need multi-region PAL/NTSC DVD player to view it in USA/Canada: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital Stereo ), WIDESCREEN (1.85:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Booklet, Filmographies, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, Trailer(s), Uncut, SYNOPSIS: Described by director Gregg Araki as 'A Beverly Hills 90210 episode on acid' (with no suggestions of what it might be cut with), Nowhere is a companion piece with Araki's previous meditations on youth gone wild in the 1990s, Totally F***ed Up and The Doom Generation -- Araki's self-described 'teen apocalypse trilogy.' Nowhere follows 18-year-old Dark Smith (James Duval) as he goes through a fairly typical day in Los Angeles. Dark needs, but rarely gets, emotional support from his girlfriend Mel (Rachel True). Mel, however, is also involved with a girl named Lucifer (Kathleen Robertson), while Dark moons over hunky Montgomery (Nathan Bexton). Dark's best friend Cowboy (Guillermo Diaz) has troubles of his own, as his boyfriend and bandmate Bart (Jeremy Jordan) is back on drugs and spending most of his time with his dealer. Mel's friends include sugar junkie Dingbat (Christina Applegate), doomsday poetess Alyssa (Jordan Ladd), and Egg (Sarah Lassez), who is being unexpectedly wooed by a Famous Teen Idol (Jason Simmons). Egg's brother Ducky (Scott Caan) has a crush on Alyssa, but she's keeping company with a biker named Elvis (Thyme Lewis). Alyssa's assignation with Elvis gets a psychic boost by her twin brother Shad (Ryan Phillippe) and his tryst with Lilith (Heather Graham). The day continues on a roller coaster of kinky sex, hallucinogenic drugs, random violence, romantic misunderstandings, alien abductions, and (of course) a wild party, this time at the home of noted hipster Jujyfruit (Gibby Haynes). Like The Doom Generation, Nowhere features a weal

nowhere - opnoin February 18, 2010 Peter Gross (Denmark) A nice youth movie, but sometimes it get's low in quality, like a b-movie. But I surely can recommend to young people, or people which are young in minds!
Trippy 90s Journey January 28, 2010 Alyse (Portland, Oregon U.S.) This astounding Gregg Araki film includes eating chocolate out of a vagina in a car overlooking the lights of LA, nipple-rings being bitten off, bulimic teenage girls scarfing ice cream, an adorable free-loving bisexual, an epic kick the can game involving an alien abduction, two suicides, valley girls that get evaporate by a reptilian-alien, muscular drag-queens in a jeep, fruit-loops eaten out of a hexagon-shaped bowl, murder by an angry guy who got bad blow (weapon of choice: soup can), tweens in love, twins who have extra intense orgasms when they have sex simultaneously, video camera journaling and the deepest darkest eyes you could fall in forever. Any film that starts with a steam and soap filled masturbation shower scene interrupted by an a bitter mother has fantastic potential-- Nowhere lives up to everything you would hope it to be. This is one of my all-time favorite films.
Fantastic! Very happy to find this rare dvd!! November 27, 2009 John A. Foxworth (Wickford, RI, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being a huge fan of Gregg Araki's films, "Nowhere" was the ONE film that I have struggled through the years to find. FINALLY, thanks to Amazon.com, I found it and has completed my collection!! Though it's an Australian import, I have a region-free dvd player, so ZERO problems with viewing this wonderful film.
For those who love "underground" films, this is a "must-see".
Very happy with the shipment. It arrived WAY earlier than expected and was sealed and completely brand new, which I loved.
Wish I could give this TEN stars!!
Thanks for providing this. You'll never know how grateful that I am for this.
(Think I might watch it again, now, after talking about it. LOL)
The stupidest film I have ever seen June 14, 2009 C. Cassagne (Planet Earth) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is nothing TO get about this stupid film. Insipid teenagers keep flapping their gums when they should just SHUT UP already! It's like Dawson's Creek except with worse acting. Teenagers should just shut up and learn some lessons from people who have actually lived.
Bad, stupid, moronic "movie". Idiot teenagers (oh wait, those 2 words mean the same thing) who should shut up and get a life.
Morons.
I'd give it zero stars if I could. 2 hours of my life I will never get back.
