| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Steven Spielberg's deeply flawed but sporadically fun and moving update of the Peter Pan legend stars Robin Williams as the grown-up Pan, a corporate-takeover type who must embrace his old identity in order to save his kids from Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman). The stars put on a good show, including Hoffman's read of Hook's hysterical personality, Julia Roberts mini-turn as a tiny Tinker Bell, and Maggie Smith's touching performance as the aged Wendy. The visual contrast between the adult Pan's bustling outside world and the insulated fantasy of Neverland is striking, but Spielberg's ideas about the Lost Boys--politically correct in their ethnic diversity, energetic on skateboards--are contrived and cheapening. On the plus side, the story's theme about adults finding their innocence again through their children is very touching (though some people have found it cloying). If you can look beyond the glaring problems, there's plenty to like here. --Tom Keogh

Enjoyable June 11, 2009 J. Coauette My kids loved the movie. My husband hadn't seen the movie before and he enjoyed it as well. The movie was in great shape, wrapped in plastic, and looked like new. Thanks.
Hook fan May 8, 2009 L. Holtzclaw (Oklahoma City) I love watching this movie with my 3-yr old grandson...we love it! I recently purchased another copy for my 84 yr old Father, who thoroughly enjoyed it as well.
Awesome May 5, 2009 LK I love the ironic points in the movie whereby Peter Pan has become his feared nemesis. A pirate who overwhelms weak businesses. A grownup with absolutely no sense of humor. I can feel for him, having long left childhood behind, and this movie reminds me to take those times with the not-so-lost children in my life (my kids) to giggle and be silly, rather than rule-mongering all the time so to keep order. I enjoy Hook's reaction to seeing Peter for the first time - all bloated and fearful. And then 3 days hence - his response to seeing him again. Beautiful. And I love when Peter refers to Hook as "Old man" only to have Hook use that name on him later on during the fight because then you realize it - both of them are "old men" from the perspective of the lost boys and Peter's kids. The only thing I didn't like was Julie Roberts as Tink. I don't particularly like her acting style and she came across as VERY flat in this movie. Her odd attempt at 'romancing' him when he had forgotten who he was disturbing on a few levels... 1) His kids would die if he didn't go save them 2) His personality had reverted to that of a child.
