Anything with Keanu as far as I am concerned is a bonus! Though I must admit there is nothing really in this DVD that I didn't know already. You still don't know how much of it is the truth, as it is not Keanu telling the story, it's obviously the producers who made the DVD? Keanu is a very private person and who can blame him? All I can say is that from this DVD, he may have the gorgeous looks and as much money as anybody could need - but he certainly hasn't had a great life.
Keanu still remains a mystery. Bonus footage is interesting! November 9, 2004 Linda K. Anderberg (Minnesota USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I'm a bit embarrassed that I purchased this. Like lots of other fans, I'm curious. How Keanu lives his life really isn't any of my business. I can't help but be intrigued -- the less that he tells, the more interesting he is. This DVD really doesn't give you any new insight to his personal life. I don't think that it is a violation of his privacy. Rather it is clips from various interviews and narrated. I do think that it does highlight many of his films. I don't agree with the opinions of the producers. Some of the dialogue is taken out of context and it doesn't seem fair to Keanu. It's easy to forget that even though Keanu is a big movie star and public figure that he's still just a guy. Sure, he's famous but in a way, fame can be paralyzing. I don't know if he can go through a day without being recognized. I can go to the grocery store and buy a loaf of bread and go home. I don't have to worry about signing an autograph or being followed by the paparazzi. For that reason, I'm happy to remain anonymous. I don't read the tabloids or believe the rumors surrounding our favorite stars. Deep down, I know that it's none of my business how stars live their lives. Even so, I still bought this DVD and continued to be intrigued by the lives of an actor whose performances that I respect, and admire.
Matrix opening bonus interesting. Main feature deceptive. September 17, 2004 FilmsFemme (Vermont) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I broke down and bought this used because I'd never seen any non-DVD feature interviews with Keanu Reeves and I was curious. I wouldn't really call it an invasion of privacy since all the "facts," both spurious and otherwise, have been in circulation for a long time. No new shockers here I'm glad to say. The narration is inaccurate and offensive. Lots of baseless statements made about the actor's thoughts, feelings and intentions. Clips are used to illustrate events that are obviously not from the actual time and place referred to. Worst is a clip used early on that appears to be Keanu Reeves describing himself. Later you see that it was actually part of an interview about a role he played. I wouldn't bother buying this unless REALLY want it and you can get it used/cheap.
What an incredible invasion of privacy! December 24, 2003 14 out of 24 found this review helpful
Keanu Reeves is a very private person. He keeps his private live to himself. The fact that this disc even EXISTS is incredibly offensive and disturbing. I'm horrified.
