Amazon.com This 1993 video is a one-hour workout combining stop-and-start cardio movements that are athletic (no dance) with muscle endurance moves with and without light weights. The cardio section uses moves like jogging, jumping, leg swings, and power moves such as fast lunge combinations, squats with jumps, and karate kicks. The lower body strengthening moves include variations of lunges and squats using body weight. The upper-body weight exercises are varied but done too quickly--it's easy to rely on momentum. Some of these exercises are oddly chosen: a number of the exercises that are supposed to work the chest fatigue the shoulders and back long before the chest muscles feel anything, for example. You'll certainly feel the many sets of ab exercises, however! After the fitness experts panned Cindy Crawford's 1992 Shape Your Body because of its risky moves, this one was planned under the supervision of C. Thomas Vangsness Jr., M.D., Chief of Sports Medicine at the University of Southern California. Crawford doesn't fling her body as she did in the first one (why didn't her trainer teach her not to do this in the first place?), and she explains how to do the exercises properly. A glossary of exercises at the end emphasizes correct form. This is certainly better than Shape Your Body, but unless you're wild about Cindy Crawford, you can find workouts conducted by real fitness instructors that are better designed and demonstrated. --Joan Price

Great workout May 3, 2009 Patriotgirl Had this workout video many years ago, so glad I was able to find it again. Was just as good as I remember. Great for abs and legs!
Blew off the dust March 31, 2009 CC (Washington, DC) I used this video back when I was in college and it kicked my butt then. Fast forward 10 years later, I found this video one snow when I could not make it to the gym. After years of weight training and cardio work this video still kicks my butt, and it is so fun! I actually re-incorporated it into my weekly workout routine again, it is great for toning...and you do actually break a sweat doing the leg workout/cardio section.
Best practical workout to tone up February 18, 2009 Patricia Tomsky (Poconos, PA) There's no beating this workout. The leg moves are intense AND WHEN YOU ARE DONE YOU CAN FEEL IT! I get frustrated with the rah rah and dance stuff in other workouts. This is filmed in a very offbeat way and Cindy comes across as normal shaped and sized even if she was a supermodel at the time, there's no six pack in evidence here. I recommend it highly, and have found the chest and arms section among the best ever.
great all-over workout February 12, 2009 Shannon Webb (Houston, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been using this DVD for several weeks now and I can already see results all over. I love this tape because it emphasizes proper form when doing the exercises. The variety of exercises are excellent! I am to the point where I am able to do more than 10 reps per move. I can integrate this DVD with my regular workout routine of walking in the evening, pilates, and step-workouts. The hardest part at first was trying to find the strength within to complete all the reps, especially when it came to doing the chest and arm exercises. Cindy doesn't really push you since this is a DVD that "you can grow with" so I would sometimes quit early instead of pushing through to the end of the move. I am looking forward to reaching an optimal fitness with this tape! I am getting to the point where I can do repeat sections such as the ab and back sections. If you are looking for variety in your workout, I would definitely invest in the Next Challenge Workout!!!
Great strength workout January 11, 2009 ElDee (Toronto) I have used this workout to get in, and stay in, toned shape for many years. it is challenging. Highly recommended. Lots of squats, lunges, tons of crunches, weight training for arms. This is a total body shaper. Only drawback is it offers no cardio. Beginners will not wreck their knees with this program. Beginners can also work their way up to doing all the exercises. This is an intermediate/advanced program to get through it all. I got in the best shape of my life using this program. One drawback I found is you need to find the motivation yourself because Cindy doesn't encourage you to 'keep going'. The music is also dry. But if you want a straightforward, no nonsense, intense program; this is it. You will get the best abs of your life.
