Product Description A New York City police detective is sent to England to fix a drug bust he was in charge of. Genre: Television Rating: NR Release Date: 8-AUG-2006 Media Type: DVD
Amazon.com Add Keen Eddie to the long list of unique TV shows that never clicked with a mainstream following--but which found a small but devoted fan base, for whom this DVD set is a gift from above. New York cop Eddie Arlette (pugnaciously good-looking Mark Valley) fumbles a major drug bust and gets sent to London to mop up the mess he's made. But Eddie's New York attitude proves a successful addition to Scotland Yard, so ambitious Superintendent Johnson (Colin Salmon, Prime Suspect 2) decides to keep Eddie on the team--which suits his new partner, neurotic swinger Monty Pippin (Julian Rhind-Tutt, BBC miniseries Reckless) but infuriates Eddie's accidental flatmate, the luscious, tempestuous, and frequently scantily clad Fiona (Sienna Miller). Individual shows follow self-contained investigations (like a stolen race-horse, a casino robbed by guys in Duran Duran masks, a school hazing gone too far, or a kidnapping by a French mob boss with an astrology obsession), while the rising sparks between Eddie and Fiona can be charted across the 13 episodes (which are presented in order of airdate, not the sequence in which they were created; the ideal sequence can be learned from various fan Web sites). Keen Eddie's quirky, syncopated rhythm can sometimes feel a little forced and the visual flash and rapid-fire editing owe a lot to the movies of Guy Ritchie (Snatch), but the result was nonetheless a distinctive show that deserved more of an audience than it got. This boxed set should give Keen Eddie a second chance. --Bret Fetzer

Why can't they do more Eddie? August 10, 2009 Kathleen E. Welch (Maine USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am so sick that Whoever decided to cut Keen Eddie couldn't have let it get out by WORD OF MOUTH.
You Fools, you didn't let people know about it and that is stupid.
It was a Great show and just because you aren't making all kinds of Millions, doesn't mean people don't like it.
I want Keen Eddie back, and caught up with all the Characters, Sienna, Colin , Det Pippin ,Rudy.
What is wrong with you, PUT KEEN EDDIE BACK ON TV, AND NOT ON THOSE BIG GOT TO PAY FOR CHANNELLS.
CAN YOU TELL I AM MAD AS HELL YOU PEOPLE DID THIS.

Reconsidered . . . and purchased. May 19, 2009 Michael Carson (Tucson AZ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Back in Nov. 2004, I added a comment here that I would not buy this set, even though I loved the show.
As time passed, I realized that it was very unlikely "Keen Eddie" would be reissued with the original series music.
Better to have something.
I ordered it and while still disappointed about the soundtrack and the out-of-order episodes, it is a wonderful show that should have been given more support from the producers and advertisers.
(Thank you Jennifer for your review featuring the proper order of episodes.)
If someday the series is restored completely, I'll buy that too and give someone this set as a nice present.
Good Series April 13, 2009 W. Bellinger I loved this series when it ran that summer. I thougth that it should have been picked up. They give you a few episodes that never aired. Well worth it for a fan. I hope this helps.

I liked the series when it was on TV and enjoy having it as part of my video collection
Very Disappointing November 29, 2008 J. Knight (Detroit) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The series was great to watch... when it could be found. FOX shuffled it around to different time slots and after a few episodes started to play them out of order.
This box set has the episodes out of order as well. While the main part of the individual episodes are contained to the story, continuing story lines (like that with his roommate / the final shot of the city map) don't make sense at all. Add to that the fact that the original music has been stripped (which were greatly matched 80's tunes) and you end up with a bad taste in your mouth.
For anyone who like the original series... DON'T BUY!
If you have never seen the show before, have money to waste and are bored, you will find it entertaining, yet confusing at times.
If it is re-released in order, WITH the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK... I will buy it in a heartbeat!
