Product Description 'BEWARE OF THE DWARF' WHISPERS THE HITCHHIKER TO THE BEAUTIFUL LIBRARIAN AS HE DIES MIDWAY THROUGH A MOIVE. SUDDENLY SHE IS PROPELLED INTO A WORLD OF WILD CHASES, BIZARRE ATTEMPTS ON HER LIFE & DEADLY ENCOUNTERS WITH AN ASSORTMENT OF WEIRD UNDERWORLD CHARACTERS.
Amazon.com Not short on murder, mayhem, or any other screwball '70s conventions, Foul Play is a wonderful vehicle for Goldie Hawn. She plays Gloria, a librarian "ready to take a chance again," who ends up the target of an assassination ring. Chevy Chase, fresh off of Saturday Night Live, does the closest thing to real acting he would ever achieve (okay, maybe Fletch) as Tony, the cop assigned to protect Gloria. Dudley Moore made an indelible impression on American audiences as Stanley Tibbets, a surprisingly kinky symphony conductor. But it's the quirky things that make this film: the grandmothers playing Scrabble with expletives, Burgess Meredith's snake Esme, the old Japanese couple in the back of the careening limo. From the opening credits with Barry Manilow crooning the title song, this is a fond trip down memory lane. --Keith Simanton

Family classic June 29, 2009 Al-duha Moore Great family movie. Great characters and suspense. Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase are good combinations. This is a must see comedy movie that is good for the whole family.
Very Funny!!! June 13, 2009 PUMPKIN MAN This is a very funny movie with awesome actors, such as Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn. Chase plays a klutzy Detective named Tony Carlson who is protecting Hawn's character, Gloria Mundy from some bad guys who want her dead. She picked up a hitchhiker who gives her a cigarette packet with a roll of film in it. She tries to outrun a bad guy named 'The Dwarf' Tony and Gloria later find out that Pope Pius XIII will be assassinated at an opera, unless they can prevent it. I highly recommend FOUL PLAY!!!
Chevy and Goldie -- Great Fun! June 2, 2009 L. L. Daniel (Manhattan, Kansas USA) I love Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn. Bumbling detective meets damsel in distress. Somewhat "silly" but relaxing, entertaining movie. I have seen this movie many times and still find it entertaining.
"Goldie Hawn's Best Movie" April 23, 2009 Terry Richard (Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first saw "Foul Play" at a local drive-in, and I have always loved it. A superb comedy starring Goldie Hawn as a librarian without a social life, she plays Gloria Mundy who gets embroiled in an assasination attempt on the Pope's life. Filmed in beautiful San Francisco, the film also stars Chevy Chase in one of his better roles. He plays a cop who is hired to protect Gloria and to find the thugs who are out to murder the Pope. Rachel Roberts, who would take her own life in 1980, steals the movie as the mastermind behind this devious plot. Dudley Moore has a small supporting role in "Foul Play", playing a man Gloria meets at a bar. "Foul Play" was written and directed by the wonderful "Colin Higgins", who would direct "9 to 5" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". The theme is sung by Barry Manilow and is called "Ready To Take A Chance Again", one of the best theme songs in movie history. Sit back and enjoy a fun, well-written comedy, the way movies should be! I have watched this film over a dozen times and I never get tired of it. The DVD is pretty much barebones, but it is in widescreen format, digitally restored, and it comes with the trailer.
And then I heard a Coo Coo February 7, 2009 Jason C. Dean (South East USA) Chevy and Goldie at their best. This is a fun adventure comedy as Goldie gets into all sorts of trouble after picking up a hitch hiker. The movie moves at a good pace and is very funny with a bit of a serious drama angle to it as well. Overall a great edition to a DVD collection and I bet most of your friends have never even seen it.
