My Little Pony The First Season November 7, 2009 Ronda Pennycuff (Smiths Grove, Kentucky United States) I love it. This collection takes me back to when I was a kid and reminds me how much fun I had watching My Little Pony. I would definitely tell anybody who is a fan to get this dvd set.
Beware--these might not be the ponies you were looking for! March 12, 2009 A. Gillingham (Pittsburgh, PA USA) 5 out of 11 found this review helpful
My now 5-year-old daughter loves My Little Pony based on the books and toys currently available in stores. The stories are typically about parades, parties, plays, or organizing some kind of fun event. Fairly wholesome. Definitely not scary in any way.
Imagine my surprise when she opened this for her birthday today, we put it in, and started watching. So far there have been witches, evil bumble bees, giant spiders, ghosts, and ponies in constant jeopardy. Honestly, if that's what she was interested in, I would have bought her Scooby Do! Instead, I've managed to traumatize my daughter who will likely have pony nightmares as a result.
So--if you are looking for Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, and Minty, this is NOT for you!
Great for Little Girls. July 16, 2008 Lisa Haasbroek (South Africa) My 3-year-old loves this series. I remembered it from my own childhood, and couldn't resist getting it for her! I'm glad I did.
This DVD makes me so happy!!! February 7, 2008 C. Frey (BC, Canada) I was so happy when I found this DVD. The quailty is great. The storyline awesome compared to the cartoons on tv today. My near 4 year old son just loves this dvd set. I would recommend it to anyone with young children.
Classic series finally comes to DVD October 4, 2007 Desiree Chretien (Bon Accord, AB Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a classic series by Hasbro. It's sweet, cute, innocent, and carries good messages for kids. If you are looking for something for your little girl, this is an awesome DVD set. If you are a collector looking to finally get this old school gem, go nuts. In spite of the lack of extras, and closed captions; the syndicated versions of Firefly's Adventure and Escape from Katrina ( if you've seen the originals these versions will make you sick); and the shoddy box artwork, this set is well worth the purchase. My verdict: 4 stars for the series( a few production flubs keep it from perfection), and 3 stars for the DVD release( Don't expect all that came with Jem).
