Ridiculously Bad Movie November 3, 2009 Lawrence A. Zeinner (Cincinnati, Ohio United States) I can't believe they're selling this movie. (A friend let me borrow his copy.) Bad acting (sorry Meg Ryan, but you did get better!), bad directing, bad special effects, no plot, no sympathetic characters. I laughed at the dorky demon when he jumped out of the well and lunged at the screen. But don't get me wrong, don't even waste your time watching this movie to laugh at how bad it really is, because it's not even campy. Really, it's so bad I wrote my first review just to warn you. They should throw all the copies of this movie in the well with that clown for a demon.
not 3D November 2, 2009 Frank I'm not sure why does this movie says on his tittle "3D", i received a very old movie ( 70's, i believe ) with really bad effects and nothing of the 3D effects that it's is promoted on Amazon
3D effects leave a lot to be desired February 3, 2009 Charles D. Nix (Pahoa, HI) Movie was fair. Not as good as the others. The 3D effects are few and weak.
Three for three... September 14, 2008 Mad Collector (Las Vegas, NV) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This film often resembles Tobe Hooper's "Poltergeist". That movie preceded this one by a year or so, so the "Amityville" filmmakers could have been plagiarizing to a degree. However, Amityville 3-D, despite its flaws, still has enough fuel to forge ahead given that the Amityville story continues to astound the motion picture public.
This movie is mostly noteworthy for the mere fact that it features Meg Ryan in one of her earliest film roles. Otherwise, you have to go beyond the director's cheesy attempts to startle an 80's 3-D viewing public. (The DVD of the film is 3-D in title alone.) It has a few surprises, so it's worth watching if you have a free afternoon. Otherwise, this is largely considered the first in a long line of unnecessary sequels to the Amityville franchise.
Amityville Horror III August 10, 2008 MARCOLA (Somewhere in Time...) I don't think it was better than the first 2, but it's still a good movie.
Another thing I didn't know MEG RYAN played in this movie.
It has a pretty good coutinuing story from the 2 before it.
It's just not as scary.
I rate this dvd a 6 from 1to10!!
