Product Description Movie DVD
Amazon.com The smartest high school drama since Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars is The O.C. as penned by Raymond Chandler. Veronica (Kristen Bell, Deadwood) is Nancy Drew by way of Lauren Bacall, while Neptune makes Peyton Place look like Mayberry. The first season begins in the aftermath of a dizzying array of cataclysmic events: Her best friend, Lilly (Amanda Seyfried), was murdered, her sheriff father was fired over his handling of the case, she was sexually assaulted, and her mother left. Since then, Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni, Just Shoot Me) has become a private eye and drafted Veronica as his assistant. She may lack Buffy's physical prowess, but the "tiny blonde one" turns out to have a special talent for sleuthing. In the wake of her sophomore year, the popular crowd abandoned Veronica--even boyfriend Duncan (Teddy Dunn), Lilly's brother. (Hence the theme song: "We Used to Be Friends.") Veronica is on her own until she meets Wallace (Percy Daggs III), the only student unfamiliar with her past, unlike Duncan's sarcastic pal, Logan (Jason Dohring), one of her more ardent foes. He was Lilly's boyfriend and his father is movie star Aaron Echolls (Harry Hamlin). By the end of her junior year, Veronica and Logan will make their peace, but it won't be so easy to win over the school--let alone the town. Throughout the season, Veronica will solve several mysteries both big and small--including the murder of Lilly Kane. But a few questions remain. For instance, at the end of the season finale, Veronica opens the door to greet an unseen visitor with "I was hoping it would be you." So who was it? Fortunately, UPN renewed the critically acclaimed (if ratings challenged) teen noir and that tantalizing question will be answered in the second season premiere. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Fantastic. July 2, 2009 E. Dixon (KY, USA) The first season of Veronica Mars is a nearly flawless piece of work. A season long murder mystery fed piece by piece over 20 something episodes sounds like a little much, but it is pulled off wonderfully. There is, of course, going to be filler when that many episodes are involved, but each and every one goes into giving a clearer understanding of who Veronica is and the life she is suddenly trying to adapt to. Enrico Colantoni is downright awesome as Keith Mars, and the series is worth watching just to see him and Kristen Bell interact as father and daughter. Wonderful television all around.
VERONICA MARS IS WAY SMARTER THAN ME! April 30, 2009 murphy jr (hayward, ca) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I was younger, I loved Nancy Drew, so when I read about Veronica Mars the summer before Season 1, I just had to watch. I loved it from the very first episode. My daughter and I watched it together, and she has loaned out her seasons on DVD to many friends. What a great, well-written, and wonderfully acted show.
never received the item April 23, 2009 Kathleen Sommerville (Chattanooga, Tn) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
I never received this item. I tried contacting the sender and Amazon about this, but received no reply from either. This is the second time I have tried to order a video from Amazon, and the second time I did not receive my order. Needless to say, I will not order again, but I would like my money back, which I did not the first time. Kathleen Bruns
Veronica Mars is Smarter than Me! April 10, 2009 Heidi Breid (Rochester, MN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great TV series, full of wit and never-ending fun, but with some serious heart as well. Season one is the best, and definitely worth the money I spent on it, which means a lot coming from a college student with limited funds! The price was fair and the delivery quick: it came two days before a similar product I ordered at the same time through another store, which made me very happy. You'll fall in love with Veronica Mars, and soon you'll realize that she's smarter than you, too, and I don't mean that as an insult!
Very Underrated Show! February 9, 2009 Heather Yost (Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A mixture between the teen drama and a mystery "who did it," this show is so underrated. I had never heard of the show before and after wathcing every season of the OC, Dawson's Creek, and One Tree Hill I needed antoher show to fill my time. I started researching for 'shows similar to..." and read a review about Veronica Mars. I was interested and ordered season 1. I became obsessed and had the entire season done in like 3 days and soon ordered seasons 2 and 3. If you like the Teen Drama shows such as OC, One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek, etc. you will love this show too.
