Throughout its phenomenal run, Friends demonstrated that familiarity doesn't always breed contempt. But isn't it nice that even after 10 years, we could still learn something new about these intimately observed characters? Tidbits revealed in the episode "The One Where the Stripper Cries": Ross (David Schwimmer) and Monica (Courtney Cox Arquette) used to entertain at family gatherings as Donny and Marie; ("Oh God, that's right," remembers Rachel. "I blocked that out.") and Chandler (Matthew Perry) kissed Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) at a college party in the 1980s.

See the 10 or more seasons club.
The best was saved for "The Last One": At one time, Ross (David Schwimmer) pursued being a professional dancer ("Do you realize we almost made it 10 years without that coming up?," he remarks).

Friends' tenth season is all about life changes and closure. Monica and Chandler buy a house and make plans to adopt. Once New Age free spirit Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) gets married. Rachel is offered a job in Paris, prompting Ross to finally proclaim his love.

Two of Friends's most invaluable players are granted worthy send-offs. Janice (Maggie Wheeler) resurfaces as a prospective homebuyer in the house next door to Monica and Chandler in "The One Where Estelle Dies," and Central Perk fixture Gunther (James Michael Tyler) at last professes his adoration of Rachel in "The Last One." Christina Applegate makes a welcome return in "The One Where Rachel's Sister Babysits" and Danny DeVito is the unlikely and very temperamental stripper in "The One Where the Stripper Cries."

Just friends? See our guide to who kissed whom on Friends.
Greg Kinnear is at his smarmy best as Ross's new girlfriend's Nobel-prize-winning ex-boyfriend in "The One with Ross' Grant." Dakota Fanning has a sweet scene with Joey (Matt LeBlanc) in "The One with Princess Consuela" and Anna Faris joins Paul Rudd (Phoebe's husband Mike, a.k.a. Crap Bag in "Princess Consuela") as a recurring cast member in "The One with the Birth Mother."

Friends' final season quickly recovers from the Joey-Rachel misstep to find its consistent and satisfying groove. As each Friend turns in their key to the apartment each had shared at one time or another over the past 10 years in "The Last One," could Friends end on a happier or more poignant note? This final addition to the Friends DVD library, too, rises to the momentous occasion with a more generous package of features, including a lengthy gag reel and reflections from the ensemble. --Donald Liebenson

5 out of 5 stars So amazing   October 14, 2008
We have been going through the nine first seasons in the last 4 months, listening to one or two, sometimes more, episodes everyday. Looking around our place, we couldn't find the tenth season. Turned into the net and found here at amazon.com. It didn't last very long!!! 1 week was enough to go through that one. And although we know that serie only since less than 6 months, I will already miss all the characters. Great buy, great entertaining, great time!

5 out of 5 stars Best show ever, finally finished.   September 30, 2008
    *Spoilers to follow*

As many others have stated, the plots in season 10 were kind of pushing the limits, but were great nonetheless. Ross' tan ("Mississippilessly?!"), Joey appearing on Pyramid ("Paper! Snow!...A ghost!") and of course, the breathtaking finale are just a few of the great moments of the show. The shortened amount of episodes seemed to work well since it seems as if they were running out of ideas, like Joey trying to learn French. This was one of the very few sub-plots of any episode I don't care for, since Joey's gibberish (which he thinks is French) is a bit too dumb for his character.

Phoebe marries Mike, Chandler and Monica adopt twins (I always forget it's twins until the doctor says so, despite seeing this season many times), Ross being "fine" (one of Ross' funniest moments, when he's drunk and making fajitas), Joey ripping Ross' pocket off his shirt to make it look like they were robbed, Phoebe renaming herself to Princess Consuela Banana-hammock, ... I could go on all day. This season finished the show perfectly. I just kind of wish the spin-off, Joey, never happened since its failure kind of put a "dent" into the Friends dynasty.

Anyway, this season is a must-own for any Friends fan. Actually all 10 seasons are.

5 out of 5 stars tv series   September 15, 2008
The product was delivered in a timely fashion and was exactly as described. I am satisfied with the purchase and the product.

5 out of 5 stars Great gag reel from multiple seasons   September 5, 2008
I've been a huge fan of the series for years, and own several of the other seasons on DVD. The best feature of this set was the gag reel on disc 4. It covers some of the early years, as well as season 10, and includes footage of the cast and crew saying goodbye, and breaking down the set. I actually laughed out loud and then cried as I watched, repeatedly. It was a fitting end to a great run for the show!

4 out of 5 stars "You were my first kiss...ever!"   August 26, 2008
Friends - The Complete Tenth Season is the last in the show's amazing 10-year run. The last season was the shortest as well, only 18 episodes. Some of the episodes are funny and entertaining and some are not. Season 10 is a mixed bag, you can tell the writers really started running out of ideas. The series finale is incredibly moving and spoiler alert! Ross and Rachel finally get back together (they are so meant to be, seriously!). Monica and Chandler finally get a baby, well twins actually. Phoebe gets married to Mike and Joey well he's character went on to star in an unsuccessful spin-off. It was time these "friends" went their separate ways but at least fans like me can watch these DVD's anytime, enjoy!
