I love the series - Waited for price reduction February 2, 2010 Eugene R. Carrero, Jr. (Hawaii) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took a while to uderstand the menu system. The I like the stories. Too bad the studio bosses gave it such bad viewing times.
Boldly go....where hot vulcan women are. January 20, 2010 Pieman (southaven, mississippi United States) I love star trek...let's get that part out of the way on the front end. If you do not enjoy star trek, why are you looking at this item? I kid I kid.
This is probably my favorite ST series of all time, a series that was cut down in its prime. This fact leads to a bit of a hurried ending for the series and I feel that the final episode could have gone a much better way...however do not let this influence your decision on this series. It is phenomenol...it has all of the classical ST elements of social commentary and the exploration of not only space but humanity as well.
The series also has this wonderful feel of being a pioneer. The other ST series already have the federation behind them and a huge fleet of ships...but in this show there is only Earth with one deep space exploration ship and they are pretty much on their own (except the Vulcans...bleh). This seems to lend something to the series that I felt was lacking in the other shows.
One more point in helping you decided to buy these DVD's.....lemme speak to just the guys.....Fellas the Vulcan science officer in this show is ridiculously hot......ludicrously hot even. Trust me....I'm a professional.
Limitations of human vision January 5, 2010 Mayank K. Kothari (Iowa, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
As much entertaining the seasons are, they represent the combined and limited vision and wisdom of earthly beings and nothing else. Human vision cannot allow a more beautiful rendition of a superhuman, only an inferior one in the end. Even at fiction, human mind cannot transcend its own projection-in everything from a petty highway robbery to sex of which there is none in any "Season".
To Go Where..... December 13, 2009 Richard N. Harrison (Chesterfield, Virginia USA) The series had some excellent writing and all the actors did a formidable job of being consistent and improving. The DVD set makes it easier to follow the continuing plots and story lines and gives the satisfaction of not having commercial interruption and having to "stay tuned for next week". Another advantage of having the series in a compressed time line is watching the characters evolve. And with the DVD it is fun to catch the occasional mistake that Editing overlooked (dialog between Ensign Merriwether and his mother in the cafeteria of the family freighter, mis-named the ship).
This series answered questions by laying background for the other Star Trek series and also cleverly inserted tid-bits relating to events yet to come. The viewer learns how relationships with other species evolved and how the roots of the Federation were established while many new plot lines were explored.
My only negative was obtaining a used copy. Although "checked", it was not fault free having at least two episodes damaged significantly on the DVD making them impossible to view in their entirety. Otherwise, I feel this series is well worth the time and price for those who are Star Trek and Sci-Fi fans.
the beginning December 6, 2009 MRT Star Trek-Enterprise has been taking a lot of fire. I don't see it...I am going back through the entire series and all I've seen "bad" are one or two episodes that I think are weak, personally. I have found Star Trek-Enterprise to have plot depth and craftsmanship, series continuity, and character development. I think they are excellent and very well done.
This complete series collection is well done. I found no video or sound problems and a lot of extras. The menu presents a short learning curve and there is a minimum of overpackaging. Wish there could have been a fifth and final season to tie everything up and make for a more complete story. The series should have been given that chance. In today's market, with cheap reality shows and cheaply produced entertainment shows being the way most networks are going, doubt if we will see the budget committed to do another series.
