Amazon.com Transporter 2 knows what its audience wants and--like its title character--it delivers. This is a movie that has not only a fight choreographer but also a car stunt choreographer; a movie in which a female assassin wears nothing but a bra and panties because, presumably, additional clothing would be too cumbersome; a movie in which crashing through a concrete wall in order to leap over a four-lane street will not even rumple the hood of the hero's car; a movie in which a drunken supermodel, after her advances are chastely and gently rebuffed by the hero, says "Thanks for the respect--that's what I needed most"; a movie, in short, for those who liked the first Transporter but found it too subdued and character-driven. Jason Statham (The Italian Job) reprises his role as Frank Martin, a perhaps overly diligent chauffer who will break bones if his duty is impeded. The sheer glee with which Transporter 2 casts aside logic, probability, and the laws of physics is infectious. If the sequence in which Frank flips his car upside-down in order to detach the bomb attached to his undercarriage doesn't reduce you to intoxicated giggles, well...you're watching the wrong movie. Transporter 2 is utterly shameless, unstoppably ridiculous, and completely enjoyable. Also featuring Amber Valetta (Hitch), Jason Flemyng (Snatch), and Matthew Modine. --Bret Fetzer

Not serious, just absurd June 22, 2009 Jake E. (florida USA) This is a 200% action movie, but at the same time a 100% "empty movie", totally absurd and ridiculous.
A "Roll Your Eyes" Action Movie June 2, 2009 YJM (Somewhere In The South) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like Jason Statham, I really do. I think he makes a great action hero and he seems like a genuinely likable guy. But this movie is just ridiculous. The stunts he pulls off with moving vehicles and with his fists are so unbelievable you will just end up rolling your eyes at the impossibleness of it all. This isn't like James Bond impossible, this is like defy the laws of physics impossible. As an example, in one scene the Transporter knows there is a bomb under his car and it's about to be set off, so what does he do, well he does what anyone would, he drives up a ramp that spins his car in mid-air allowing a crane hook to snag the bomb from under his car in the nick of time! Of course the car lands perfectly on all four wheels and the Transporter has a look on his face of, "yeah, I could do that all day." It would probably take the most skilled car driver thousands of tries to pull a move like that off, but nope, not in this movie, it's just par for the course. Please!!! I'm all for stunts in an action movie (it wouldn't be an action movie without them) but when they become this goofy and unbelieveable I can't take the film seriously. Also, the women in this movie are deplorable. The villainous looks like a heroin addict with a really horrible hair cut and a stupid looking leather outfit that accentuates her bony figure. The only thing scary about her is her looks. Then there is the wife of the family the Transporter is hired to protect... Oh boy is she a piece of work. What a nasty, vile, hag of a women. For most of the movie she berates her husband and the police trying to help find her son (I love the scene where she pushes the bomb squad aside and rushes into the van with an "I'll show you weak men how it's done attitude" I was hoping the van would blow up but unfortunately no such luck!), all the while trying to cheat on her husband with the transporter. The husband is worried sick about his kidnapped son and this woman can find nothing better to do but scold him and belittle him in every scene, and then go secretly running to the Transporter to get laid. In one scene this shrew of a woman actually blames her husband for the kidnapping because his job has made him rich and famous, yet she sure doesn't have a problem living off his hard earned money! (the husband is rich). American women, you have to love them, or not... Anyway, if you're a die hard Stathom fan you can do better than this, like say, Transporter one. I gave it two stars because there are some really flashy/fancy martial arts scenes and Jason certainly moves well enough to pull them off.
TRANSPORTER 2 April 30, 2009 Tania Santana (Tampa, FL USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The movie itself was good, it was the quality of the DVD, it was very noisy, I couldn't hear very well what they were saying. It is like some thing out of balance.
New way of movie making. April 21, 2009 GangstaLawya (TimBuckToo) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Transporter belongs to a set of movies that have borrowed the visual drama of japanese anime and applied it to movie filmography. The choreography clearly mirrors what you see in anime. It even indulges in over the top images and action. Anime was also very stylistic. Here, we also have that imported into the movie. Along with Sin City, Kill Bill, Resident Evil, Domino, the 300, the Matrix and several other movies, we have with Transporter the over the top sequences, visual drama and stylistic detail of japanese anime. If you see Cowboy Beebop, for example, you can see the connection. The martial arts choreography doesn't reflect real martial arts; rather, it reflects the visual drama of anime. Frank Miller, who gained popularity for his unique drawing style on Daredevil, imitated japanese manga (i.e., graphic novels). And he was the one who sought to pioneer movie making that exploited the themes of anime. Miller is responsible for Sin City and the 300. I think it is a welcomed change in movie making, which, as of late has been stuttering on poorly made remakes of old movies. It seems, anime has kickstarted the otherwise dead Hollywood establishment.
British Over the Top, Stereotypical Action Film. April 16, 2009 Christopher (New Haven, CT) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This second Transport film with would be tough guy Jason Statham picks up where the last one left off. You know, over the top action with impossible events and the ability to evade bullets along with bullet-proof doors and cars - when you need them most. If you have seen any of these films, then you will know that they keep trying to push this Statham guy on us even if we do not like him. I just hate stereotypical character like this guy. Not clean shaven, low voice, cocky and like Steven Segal - invincible! The Europeans clearly think that we want over the top, crazy action with impossible escapes and fight scenes. Of coruse, these action guys are so brave that they will do anything to get their target. This film is only good to watch to say that you saw it. Anyone who loves these films enjoys unbeliveable action. Superhero films are more realistic!
