| Customer Reviews: Latino Baseball Power. June 23, 2008 Arlene Fajardo (Puerto Rico) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I actually loved the DVD, it had alot of information on the battles for equality for Latino baseball players. Unfortunately the quality of the audio left alot to be desired. On the "extra" footage you can't even make out the questions the interviewer is asking. You can hear the reply clearly, but you dont know what he's answering, so that sucked. But it does give a sense of pride. I give it a grudging thumbs up lol.

MAGNIFICA PRODUCCION DEL BASEBALL. NUESTRAS ESTRELLAS DEL BASEBALL EXISTEN GRACIAS A ESTOS HEROES QUE PASARON INJUSTICIAS Y PREJUICIOS EN SU EPOCA HASTA MOSTRAR AL MUNDO QUE SOMOS IGUALES.

I bought this DVD to share with middle school boys who are learning Spanish. After all, to better understand a language, we must better understand those who speak the language, and what better way than through something that interests my students,EL BEISBOL! I was very surprised that with perhaps 25% of today's MLB being "hispanohablante" that the movie shared so few interviews with current players. That would have made this movie an awesome addition to my classroom! Instead, however, the players are those of yesteryear, who bring bits and pieces of history and nostalgia to the screen, mostly through a format of interview. It might be time for Ken Burns to get involved and create a sequel to this one, in which current players can reflect on both their individual and collective experiences in dealing with the MLB. (I've decided to loan this one to a parents' association fathers/sons night, where Dads will delight in sharing the film with their sons.)
Great Movie!!! June 4, 2007 George Haddad (New York, NY) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The movie is an excellent view of how Major League Baseball grew and evolved due to the Latin Americans in the game. It presents rare footage of the Hispanic Legends of Baseball and would be a thrill to any true fan of the game.
The best history of baseball June 3, 2007 Susanne Kahle (los angeles, CA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is different than Ken Burns'history. As the Spanish-speaking population in the U.S. and the world grows, this needs to be a classic.
