Amazon.com Morgan Fairchild made her screen debut in this ridiculous and insulting film as a television newswoman under constant sexual threat from a "fan" (Andrew Stevens). The lame script finds Fairchild's character scared as long as she feels powerless to this predator's threats, but capable of defending herself by--take a deep breath here--turning the tables and coming on to him. The climactic scene, in which Fairchild stops a rape by undoing the guy's pants while he turns into a quivering little boy, is not only absurd in its staging but irresponsible on every level. --Tom Keogh

Morgan at her Hottest October 11, 2009 Richard Jordan Typical stalker fair, but with Morgan Fairchild sans clothes in the pool and bathtub it becomes a must see.

No, this isn't a good movie. It's a bad mish-mash of "Vertigo", "Lipstick" and "Body Double" despite predating the last one by a good two years. The direction is TV movie of the week, the extra's acting is fairly atrocious and the script has holes Morgan Fairchild could park her little Fiat convertible in (for instance, the police call with the name of her stalker and his phone number, but fail to mention that he lives right up the street?) Add in a soundtrack that's completely looped in (witness the scene at the diner), a bad "Pino Donaggio does Bernard Herrmann" score and Andrew Stevens heaving and sweating as the main looney and I defy you not to have a good time. Then of course there's Morgan Fairchild. I might be biased, because I think Miss Fairchild is great; she seems like a gal that would be a blast on the next barstool. She is of course lovely and this movie lives and breathes on her creamy flesh. Would that she would have gotten some real parts; she could have easily inhabited some of the complex Hitchcock blondes. Here's she's forced to be more cool-whip.
Still, empty calories can be fun, and this is decidedly fun
Anchorwoman In Distress November 24, 2008 Taheen Lopez (United States- San Diego, CA) THE SEDUCTION was an awesome suspenseful flick that had some twists & turns in it, since it had some interesting drama to it that left you jumping & guessing at times and made you feel pity for Jamie Douglas(Morgan Fairchild)even though you couldn't help admiring all the nude scenes of Morgan Fairchild at the same time, since they showed us everything, but Morgans coochie, not to mention skinny dipping even at your own house is never a smart idea or a wise thing to do, since swimming naked usually contributes to nothing but trouble.
In addition to that, it was such a shame that Jamie couldn't even get a restraining order against a relentlessly obsessed perverted stalker Derek(Andy Stevens) wasn't very effective and even though I was glad to see Derek finally get killed off at the end of the movie, it was kind of sad at the same time without a happy ending, even though a lot of people got hurt and some even killed in the process throughout Jamie's whole ordeal with Derek's stalking her.
What I don't understand is, Jamie was a rich anchorwoman who had everything, except protection, but I find it kind of bizarre why she didn't at least have a private security guard or something with as much danger and harrasment she was getting from Derek.
Something else I found to be quite baffling was why Derek was so insistent about wanting Jamie for his girlfriend without at least even giving other cute chicks a chance to go out with him, especially when there were obviously numerous cute gals throwing themselves at Derek who thought he was drop dead gorgeous, but I guess that was the purpose of this movie in order to keep the suspense going to keep people interested in the movie the whole time along with the fact that things aren't always so practical nor make a lot of sense in the movies.
This movie also takes me all the way back to memory lane to when we had the recession going on back in 1981-1982 when Ronald Reagan was the president along with the fact that I was 9 years old in the 3rd grade at Rockwood Elementary School in Calexico, CA when this movie was released in the theatres back in the Spring of 1982 when I was still living in my hometown(El Centro, CA) being raised in the Imperial Valley.
Very under-rated ! October 22, 2008 Robert T. Kennedy (Newark, DE USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A fairly suspenseful, well written and well acted film. If you like steamy, sexy thrillers, The Seduction is for you. It`s very `80`s, which isn`t a bad thing, and if you enjoy films where ``the hunted becomes the hunter``, this is the one. Lastly, if the movie dissapoints (which it won`t), let me leave you with these words...Morgan...Fairchild...nude. A wonderful actress / Goddess in the buff, always a good thing.
