Developing close friendships and nurturing a positive self esteem are two major challenges along the road to growing up. In this Disney sequel to The Fox and the Hound, Tod (a young fox voiced by Jonah Bobo) and Copper (a bloodhound voiced by Harrison Fahn) are the best of friends. When Copper bemoans the fact that he can't seem to do anything right, Tod reassures him that eventually he'll find something at which he excels and invites him to the fair. Opportunity knocks when a vocal dog group called "The Singing Strays" looses its lead singer Dixie (voiced by Reba McEntire) and Copper discovers that he's a really good singer. Unfortunately, Copper's newly discovered fame leaves Tod feeling jealous and abandoned and threatens to destroy the pair's close friendship. Will a close examination of what's really important in life be enough to set things right between Tod and Copper? Buying online saved me $12 over WalMart. Movie is cute and my granddaughters (age 5 and 8) love it! They sing the songs over and over.

What a mess. At the very beginning one of my young sons realized that the fox and the hound were babies again and they didn't understand what was going on. Was Disney so creatively bankrupt that they couldn't figure out how to come up with a continuation of the original Fox and the Hound?
Here's some ideas for Fox and Hound 3:
Some evil real estate developers buy up all the woods and farm land and the grown-up fox and hound organize a revolt among all the forest critters.
The Fox's puppies and the Hound move to the city and share an apartment. What could go wrong?
The Fox and the Hound notice that climate change is ruining the forest, and they work together to fight global warming.
One of the Fox's offspring and one of the Hound's offspring get together and start hanging around with the wrong crowd at the local junkyard and...oops, that was Lady and the Tramp 2.
Anyway, there's certainly a lot that could have been done with this, but I wish they hadn't done something so disorienting to the little ones.

I actually liked this movie better than the original since it shoed more feelings and inter action between the characters. It showed how friendship can be overlooked when our heads are full of glamour and the desire to go after fame. It taught a good lesson to children in a gentle way like most of the new Disney films are doing.
