Paris sucks as an actress or anything else for that matter... June 22, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was an AWFUL movie. If I could give it zero stars I would have but Amazon forces you to at least give it one star. Don't waste your time. Thank heavens I didn't have to pay to see this because if I did I would have been horrified. Paris Hilton is an awful actress--she acts just like she does in real life---really badly!
Heartwarming film that teaches tolerance and acceptance May 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Paris Hilton stars as Victoria English the rich, attractive, and sadistic president of the Gamma Gamma sorority. She tortures new pledges and even her own underlings because she can and they all want to be like her anyway. However Victoria has to accept girls that she would never talk to or look at if she is to realize her dreams. Victoria's one goal in life is to be on the cover of FHM magazine and to be declared by the magazine as the hottest sorority. In order to win this elite title she is going to have to have members that meet the "diversity" criteria. Victoria sets out to find the girls that she can manipulate and ultimately humiliate once they think that they are going to be members and the award is given. Conveniently the dorm that houses the new pledges has been closed down due to a malfunctioning toilet. The new pledges are in need of a place to stay and they match the diversity criteria. There is the overweight girl, one black girl, a couple of lesbians, a foreign exchange student who everyone calls Poo Poo since they can't pronounce her real name, and a wife who has just had a disastrous breast job who has enrolled in college so that she can get back at her cheating husband by bedding as many frat boys as she can. Of course there is one normal girl in the group. She is played by Paula Garces. They meet Victoria and soon the hazing begins beginning with a used condom roundup at four in the morning. It is during this humiliating initiation that Garces meets up with Victoria's abused boyfriend played by Simon Rex. It is not exactly a strong roster of talent when you have Hilton as the lead, that girl from Harold and Kumar as the herione, and the annoying Rex as the romantic lead. At least there are some good supporting roles. Kerri Kenney from Reno 911 provides a few laughs as the horny wife, Taylor Negron has a pretty funny scene as a Kama Sutra teacher who gets a lap dance from Hilton (her double at least), Carmen Electra has one scene, and even Hilton's aunt is in the film playing Ms. Stern the fashion teacher. Of course there is a lot of nudity since this film is billed as the "naughty version." It is here that the film excels since the director fills the screen with as many bare breasts as he can. Why get one topless chick when two or three or even five will do. This is what caused Hilton to disown the film. This film was actually her debut film and she didn't want to be associated with anything sexual. The biggest laugh to be had in this film is during the credits. After William Heins gets his due as director, and Hilton is named as one of the producers it says that "additional scenes directed by Stratherford" something or other. Turns out that the nude scenes were added by one of the producers in the hopes of making the film better. Pledge This is like the modern day Caligula as everyone involved like Hilton and the director had the serious intentions of making a film about college life but then a money hungry producer hoping to get more people to see it with the lure of nudity went and ruined the film. I don't know what people expect of this film of course its going to suck. If you hate Hilton and think this film looks dumb than why even waste your time or money. I count myself in the camp of people who loves bad movies and hopes that a film that everyone trashes and loathes will still have a few good parts I can't really say that this film delivered. There are three very good looking ladies that make the film tolerable: Hilton, Garces, and Noureen De Wolf (Poo Poo), and a few chuckles to be had but otherwise the film is exactly what you would expect a crappy film starring Paris Hilton that debuted on DVD. The sole extra is a seven minute making of which shows Hilton getting mobbed by the press at Cannes where I think this film was set to premiere and people like Geoffrey Arend (the pyramid scheme guy from Garden State) and Randy Spelling talking about how this film is destined to be a classic.
Mildy Good October 30, 2007 If you're thinking when you buy this movie "Sweet i'll get to see Paris Hilton naked" then buy One Night In Paris because this movie dosen't have it.It had some good parts but not what you expected. Now i'm not saying don't buy it but beware.

Has to be one of the worst movies ever made. Nothing worth viewing here. I would give it zero stars if possible.
Avoid This May 28, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
In "National Lampoon's Pledge This!" Paris Hilton is "Victoria English," president of South Beach University's fiercely exclusive sorority "Gamma Gamma." Everyone adores her, worships her and wants to be accepted by her, and everyone wants to be like her ... are you still listening?
Reese Witherspoon might have this uninspired story watchiable with her comedic talent. Sorry, no such luck here because Ms. Witherspoon was not available. Instead you see Paris Hilton doing nothing particularly great, except gliding around the campus in expensive dress or saying something silly smugly. Actually she does nothing even during the film's pie-throwing scenes (yes, there is!) because no pie hits her.
There are toilet jokes (about school toilet "eating" a poor girl, and ... er ... about one exploding toilet, no, I'm not kidding) and of course, lots of nudities. But there is more to come after these gross-out gags and the film gets worse. A group of freshmen arrive, mostly stereotyped "outcasts" or "misfits" and they have to undergo humiliating "initiation" in order to be member of the sorority. This part is not just unfunny, but repulsive.
Finally I didn't write the names of co-stars and cameos because most probably they want to forget anything about it all and must have already deleted the name of the film from their CV by now. So please, listen, here is my advice; Avoid this.
