Where's the exit? June 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Employee of the Month is probably the worst film with absolutely the worst plot ever! Dax Shepard of Punk'd is pretty good but Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook, oh boy expect bad acting! I can see why this film got trashed by critics, stay far away from this mess.
Jessica Simpson acting, heck no May 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This movie has a good premise, but # 1 Jessica Simpson CAN NOT act. The humor was not that funny. there were not any Laugh out Loud moments that I can really recall. Just avoid this movie. this is 2 hours of my life that I may never get back
See Good luck Chuck instead, extremly funny
Good for a much needed laugh May 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This movie is a great choice if you simply want a stupid movie that you can laugh about and not have to think too hard about the plot. There are many cliche's and overused jokes, but plenty of new jokes and silly conditions that make this the perfect movie to watch if you need a pick-me-up.
The movie takes place in a BJ's/Sam's Club warehouse store where massive products are sold in bulk. The ever-present typical slacker decides to pick up the pace and try to give the 17-time employee of the month a run for his money over the new girl working the registers.
A definite if you simply need a laugh.
Funny Without Being Crude April 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought this was a better than average comedy especially considering how many comedies today try to pass off disgusting stunts as comedy. I think this movie spoofs all of those "try to beat the golden boy" kinds of comedy. Dane Cook was at his best in this one as a slacker with a good heart, and Dax Sheperd as the "golden boy" is very funny as the obnoxious head cashier. Shepherd is employee of the month seventeen months in a row at the super store Super Club. Jessica Simpson is a new transfer in and Cook believes the way to her heart is to beat Shepherd and become employee of the month. Andy Dick and Harlan Williams add some more comic relief as fellow employees. All in all I feel this one is a keeper since Hollywood has not been producing many good comedies lately. In addition to this movie being funny for adults and teens there is no scene in this movie that makes you feel disgusted or is disgusting to watch. No one eating anything nasty or any type of disgusting crap. Thanks to those who made this one!
Forgettable, but not Awful December 2, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This movie captured my attention and held it, but it certainly wasn't a great movie by any means. However, it wasn't bad either. The movie wasn't laugh out loud funny, nor was it suspenseful or anything. It was just a pretty bland, predictable story, that I found to be "ok" to watch. I certainly didn't sit there and look at the clock, hoping it would be over soon. But the next day, I forgot I even watched it the day before. It's a forgettable, but reasonably entertaining film.
