Product Description Expect numerous plot twists and shocking revelations in the complete third season of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, the Emmy Award-winning primetime soap. The show takes a vitriolic look at American suburbia and follows the lives of four dysfunctional housewives while also revealing tangled webs of intrigue and deceit. In season three, Gabrielle and Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) get divorced and Bree marries Orson Hodge (Kyle MacLachlan), a sinister man who ran over Mike Delfino (James Denton), and might also have killed his wife. Lynette tries her hardest to accept her husband Tom's lovechild, as Susan (Teri Hatcher) starts to date Ian (Dougray Scott), whose wife is in a coma. The 23 episodes include the dramatic season finale "Getting Married Today."
Amazon.com After the second-season Desperate Housewives took the misguided direction of splitting apart its five principals, the third season was a comeback for the ladies of Wisteria Lane with some sparkling moments and a more engaging mystery. Following the previous season's cliffhanger, Mike (James Denton) was not written out of the cast after all, but left in a coma. Susan (Teri Hatcher) keeps a vigil at his bedside and meets Ian (Dougray Scott), a handsome and rich British man keeping a similar vigil for his wife. Newly single Gabriella (Eva Longoria) meets an unexpected admirer, while Edie (Nicolette Sheridan) finds unexpected family--and an unexpected beau. The season's primary mystery revolves around Bree's (Marcia Cross) new husband, Orson (Kyle McLachlan), who turns out to have some skeletons in his closet--including one he shares with Mike--and some women in his past that he wishes had stayed there (Valerie Mahaffey and Dixie Carter). We no longer see Lynette (Felicity Huffman) in her office; rather, the emphasis is on Tom's (Doug Savant) new "dream job" of opening a pizza parlor and the financial and personal conflicts that arise from it. The mystery is resolved unusually early, leaving the rest of the season to weddings and a shock ending. Even if a few scenarios were a little too obvious going for the emotional hot buttons (a hostage situation at a supermarket, a forest encounter), the writing and the cast were so good that we didn't mind being taken along for the ride and still found the moments moving. Huffman was the season's standout and accordingly scored the cast's only Emmy nomination, but everyone was in top form (including Cross, who was sorely missed when her real-life pregnancy knocked her out of a number of late-season episodes). Bonus features include featurettes on Eva Longoria and the season's weddings; clips from Amas de Casa Desesperadas, the Spanish-language version of the show with a different cast; a season recap; Marc Cherry's favorite scenes; eight deleted scenes with commentary by Cherry; and a blooper reel. --David Horiuchi

Still A Very Good Show! July 2, 2009 Lynn Ellingwood (Webster, NY United States) The idea of having non-working neighbors and women who are strictly dependent on men (most of them) is pretty gone for good, but desperate housewives keeps the fantasy going to an entertaining affect. The women here marry and sometimes divorce with abandon but somehow stay on the same street. Each woman has their own little story to tell in this season and none are boring. They are pretty fun to watch and entertaining too.
Excellent June 25, 2009 judiann222 (Upstate New York) Thank You very much for this copy of season 3 of Desparate Housewives. Delivery was fast. I enjoyed it!

I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES April 2, 2009 Wendy A. Bowers (87124) Prior to purchasing the first four seasons of Desperate Housewives I had never watched any of the episodes on TV. By the commercials I had seen though I had a feeling it would be something I'd like. Recently I've taken the time to watch all four seasons and I'm chomping at the bit now waiting for Season five. I don't know how I'll make it all the way to September!!! This show is different than most, at least to me. I thought it was going to be more of a "Soap Opera" type but it's more of a drama with comic undertones. It'll make you laugh mostly, make you cry sometimes and make you sit there with your mouth hanging open thinking "I can't believe she did that!". I find this series thoroughly enjoyable and addictive!!
Brilliant March 21, 2009 marky77 (England) Another brilliant series of Desperate Housewives. Better than series 2 and at least as good as series one. In this series, Gabby and Carlos are divorced. Gabby is dating Victor, a poletician and Carlos is dating Edie - but are they still in love with eachother? Another tough series for Bree as her new husband Orson may be a serial killer, and somebody attempts to murder Bree herself. Lynette and Tom open a pizzaria called "Scavo's" and Lynette has some desvistating news in the climax of the series. Susan must deal with Mike coming out of his coma and not only having no memory, but beliveing Edies lies about their relationship. Another great series of the show.
