    Product Description
Just when he s needed most Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) that witty and wily charmer of a pirate is trapped on a sea of sand in Davy Jones Locker. In an increasingly shaky alliance Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) begin a desperate quest to find and rescue him. Captain Jack s the last of the nine Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court who must come together united in one last stand to preserve the freedom-loving pirates way of life. From exotic Singapore to World s End and beyond from Shipwreck Island to a titanic battle this adventure s filled with over-the-edge action irreverent humor and seafaring myth and magic. Everything has led to this twisting turning wild swashbuckling ride in this final chapter of the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogyFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE UPC: 786936292992 Manufacturer No: 04099000

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a rollicking voyage in the same spirit of the two earlier Pirates films, yet far darker in spots (and nearly three hours to boot). The action, largely revolving around a pirate alliance against the ruthless East India Trading Company, doesn't disappoint, though the violence is probably too harsh for young children. Through it all, the plucky cast (Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush) are buffeted by battle, maelstroms, betrayal, treachery, a ferocious Caribbean weather goddess, and that gnarly voyage back from the world's end--but with their wit intact. As always, Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow tosses off great lines ; he chastises "a woman scorned, like which hell hath no fury than!" He insults an opponent with a string of epithets, ending in "yeasty codpiece."!

In the previous Dead Man's Chest, Sparrow was killed--sent to Davy Jones' Locker. In the opening scenes, the viewer sees that death has not been kind to Sparrow--but that's not to say he hasn't found endless ways to amuse himself, cavorting with dozens of hallucinated versions of himself on the deck of the Black Pearl. But Sparrow is needed in this world, so a daring rescue brings him back. Keith Richards' much ballyhooed appearance as Jack's dad is little more than a cameo, though he does play a wistful guitar. But the action, as always, is more than satisfying, held together by Depp, who, outsmarting the far-better-armed British yet again, causes a bewigged commander to muse: "Do you think he plans it all out, or just makes it up as he goes along?" As far as fans are concerned, it matters not. --A.T. Hurley

1 out of 5 stars not even worth one star   August 26, 2008
WAY TO LONG AND BOREING THE WORST MOVIE I EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. WHAT A LET DOWN.

1 out of 5 stars Phony Effort   August 18, 2008
This movie was made for money. It is bad in almost every way ... acting, plot, CGI ... and a confusing mess that deserves to be thrown at 100 KM per hour straight into faces of the producers, the director, and its stars. I figure since it is such pain to watch, they, the creators, deserve some too...

4 out of 5 stars Incoherent, dazzling, illogical, hugely entertaining spectacle   August 15, 2008

You don't check out the third installment in Disney's ultra-mega-blockbuster for either great writing or sudden revelations. As Claude Raines says of Humphrey Bogart's Rick Blaine in "Casablanca," "He's like every man, only more so."

"At World's End" is just like the first two "Pirates" movies, only more so (or, for "Spinal Tap" fans, "this one goes to 11").

It should come as no shock that Jack Sparrow comes back from his gruesome death at the end of Part II, that villains get their comeuppance, and that visual splendours completely obliterate whatever qualms make arise from the charmingly-ridiculous plot. Johnny Depp and the rest of the world-famous cast do yeoman's work having a great time with this tremendous lark of a picture - working on this movie is winning the career lottery, to be sure.

If you talk about this movie with someone who complains that it makes so sense or there's a lack of quality character development, be thankful. You've just spotted a killjoy whom you should remove from your life.

Watch this movie with a huge tub of popcorn and prepare to laugh out loud and be amazed at stunning special effects. This movie, like Peter Jackson's "King Kong," is what big tubs of popcorn are for.

4 out of 5 stars On the horizon, possibility for 4th likely....   August 11, 2008
I'll never forget thinking how ridiculous a pirate movie from Disney would be when it first came out, but of course I was very surprised, and became a very big fan of Captain Jack Sparrow and all the other buccaneers, frilly dressed women, and powdered wig wearing men.

The third movie was better than the first one, the best in my opinion, it had to end, and I actually don't think I want to see another pirates movie, even though it is my favorite trilogy ever. It was darker, and it gave us a deeper look into the life of a pirate. The fighting scene at the end....WOW!!! It was a sad, but bitter-sweet way to end the movie, but in a way everyone got what they really wanted.

5 out of 5 stars Great movie   August 4, 2008
This movie is fun to watch and it rounds out the Pirates trilogy. Some of the plot turns are a little confusing and elaborate, but the story finishes the Pirates saga. If you are a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean in general, you will enjoy the crazy antics of the characters.
