Product Description Movie DVD
Amazon.com This 1987 thriller was a predictable hit with the teen audience it worked overtime to attract. Like most of director Joel Schumacher's films, it's conspicuously designed to push the right marketing and demographic buttons, and granted, there's some pretty cool stuff going on here and there. Take Kiefer Sutherland, for instance. In Stand by Me he played a memorable bully, but here he goes one step further as a memorable bully vampire who leads a tribe of teenage vampires on their nocturnal spree of bloodsucking havoc. Jason Patric plays the new guy in town, who quickly attracts a lovely girlfriend (Jami Gertz), only to find that she might be recruiting him into the vampire fold. The movie gets sillier as it goes along, and resorts to a routine action-movie showdown, but it's a visual knockout (featuring great cinematography by Michael Chapman) and boasts a cast that's eminently able (pardon the pun) to sink their teeth into the best parts of an uneven screenplay. --Jeff Shannon

As good as ever! March 16, 2010 John W. Oliphant Jr. "The Lost Boys" is still as good as the day it was made....scary with humor thrown in!
Great movie - RIP Corey Haim March 13, 2010 DukeNole (Orlando, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I grew up on the movies of the 80s and this was always one of my favorites growing up. I was shocked to learn of the death of Corey Haim just a couple of days ago. I popped this into the blu-ray player last night to pay tribute to one half of the 2 Corey's - the Haimster and Feldog. I'm not sure anyone could have imagined when this film was released that it would hold up as well as it has 20+ years later. This is a classic vampire movie with good action, a good story line, and a great soundtrack to boot. Not to mention that it cast of stars were all relative unknowns at the time - this was Keifer Sutherland's first major role in the U.S. Grab the blu-ray version of this movie, put on the popcorn, and get ready for an enjoyable movie, 80s style. RIP Corey Haim...
Good Cult Classic February 14, 2010 Willy D. Reviewer (San Francisco,CA) Every year some producer tries to get the money to do a re-make.
Leave it alone, it has stood the test of time.
Not a great script, nor great acting, but very very entertaining.
Great Claiss 80's Horror movie January 31, 2010 Patrick (Fort Collins , Co 80524) The Lost Boys a great Classic Horror movie with a bit of comedy thrown in. One of my favorite 2nd vampire movies of all times only SubSpecies is Number 1 on my own personnal list of top Vampire movies.
Great movie, classic songs, classic comedy, Great Acting and a Great Evil vampire (David) Kiefer Sutherland. the 2 Corey's are good in this movie and have some of the best one-liners in the movie.
if you like Vampire movies I recommend seeing this movie and add it to your collection.
