Amazon.com The often breathtaking, final installment in the Bourne trilogy finds the titular assassin with no memory closing in on his past, finally answering his own questions about his real identity and how he came to be a seemingly unstoppable killing machine. Matt Damon returns for another intensely physical performance as Jason Bourne, the rogue operative at war with the CIA, which made him who and what he is and managed to kill his girlfriend in the series' second film, The Bourne Supremacy. Now looking for payback, Bourne goes in search for the renegade chief of CIA operations in Europe and North Africa, partnering for a time with a mysterious woman from his past (Julia Stiles) and constantly--constantly--on the run from assassins, intelligence foot soldiers, and cops. Directed by Paul Greengrass (United 93) with the director's thrilling, trademark textures and shaky, documentary style, The Bourne Ultimatum is largely a succession of action scenes that reveal a lot about the story's characters while they're under duress. Joan Allen, Albert Finney, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, and Paddy Considine comprise the film's terrific supporting cast, and the well-traveled movie leads viewers through Turin, Madrid, Tangiers, Paris, London, and New York. Overall, this is a satisfying conclusion to Bourne's exciting and protracted mystery. --Tom Keogh

Bourne Identified - How About a Prequel? March 11, 2010 Joseph J. Slevin (Carlsbad, CA United States) Third in three great exciting action packed thrillers, Bourne Ultimatum takes off where Bourne Supremacy left us.
Jason Bourne on a multiple quest to find who murdered the love of his life and the answer to whom he really is. Now he has people in the 'Company' looking to finish him off as the last of his group of trained assassins. There is a new group Blackbriar, supposedly better, with less of a chance of failure than Bourne's group Treadstone.
David Strathairn, plays Noah Vosen, the director of Blackbrair, who decides he must eliminate Bourne at all costs. He uses his assets to find and attempt to eliminate Bourne. We are taken to Morocco, where he is in search of his CIA handler, who has more information for him. Julia Stiles, an office assistant (Nicky Parsons, whom we have seen in all three movies) does an ample job of assisting Bourne as he flees his pursuers.
One of the most interesting chase scenes of all time along the roof tops of Tangiers, even when we see the extras in the DVD and how it was done, wow, this is pretty cool stuff. To see a man flying through the air from a roof top into a window is really amazing. The fact that they actually did just that and how the camera work was done was edge of your seat stuff.
This movie is definately a nail biter. We are in London at the train station where Bourne and his new found friend, a reporter attempting to piece together information on Bourne and Blackbriar. Then to Madrid Spain, then Tangiers, then NYC. In NY, there is a great car chase and in the DVD bonus features you see where Damon trained to drive in that chase.
Albert Finney does an excellent job as the trainer who we flash back to setting us up for a prequel if possible. In the end, well, we have more to come it seems, so we will see where we go from here.
The Jason Bourne series has so far been great action with a great plot.
The Paranoid Style Returns March 8, 2010 Publius (Utopia) In "The Bourne Ultimatum" Director Paul Greengrass and Mr. Damon continue to blow away the action genre/paranoid style in the third movie of the Bourne series. When Mr. Ludlum first wrote these books in 70's and 80's, the author would probably not realize that these books would become excellent movies in the first decade of the 21st century. Unfortunately, the same concerns are as relevant as they were 30 years ago. In comparing "Ultimatum" to the two previous movies, this film seems to be the most politically vibrant of the series. One can find it hard to believe that Mr. Ludlum would have envisioned his main character getting water-boarded like an inmate at Guantanamo Bay, but that again shows the flexibility of the paranoid action film. Several of the technocrats in this movie show unsurprising similarities to speeches and thoughts of neo-conservatives. David Strathairn's convincingly evil station chief says that "we are the sharp edge of the stick" and "it ends when we've won." Of course, as Americans found out from their war efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, the truth is far more complicated. Of course, at the end of this political/morality tale, Joan Allen's character says that this is not who we are and of course the evil technocrats are arrested. Overall, the best "Bourne" movie and quite possibly the best action move of the last decade.
The Bourne Ultimatum December 29, 2009 Arnita D. Brown (USA) This is the most satisfying thriller and mind-blowing action. This movie gets under way with a burst of nervous energy and extreme urgency and never lets up. The cool thing about this movie is that the real revenge is not against bad guys in the CIA, but against the high-tech world that maddens mere mortals. Terrific stunts and chases through crowded streets, buildings and rooftops.
What's the title? November 25, 2009 S.L.S (Ontario Canada) I gave this movie a 5 star rating because I really liked it.
Unfortunately,I was really ticked off because I expected there
to be SOME relation to the book.Other than the title, this movie
has nothing to do with the book whatsoever !!!
I hope that they will make a movie of the book titled The Bourne
Ultimatum some day, because it has a really good story.
Bourne Ultimatum November 1, 2009 David Schwingel This was a let down from the first two in the series. It looks like they had to get something out and did not think it through properly.
