Amazon.com Eva Longoria Parker (Desperate Housewives) plays a woman named Kate who gets crushed by an ice sculpture on her wedding day and comes back from the dead to make sure her fiance, Henry (Paul Rudd) never finds love with anyone else. Unfortunately for Kate, Henry's sister has dragged him to see Ashley (Lake Bell, Surface), a psychic who revives Henry's will to romance. Ashley is the only person who can see Kate--a fact that Kate uses to her advantage and makes Ashley's life miserable. Over Her Dead Body wants to be a classic screwball comedy in the vein of Topper. It's packed with clever touches and comic setups--and if the plot never quite reaches the lunatic pitch Over Her Dead Body is reaching for, the movie's basic goodheartedness may leave you in a forgiving mood. Longoria Parker, whose charms may be better suited to television, doesn't quite have the crackle her roles demands (the movie was originally subtitled Ghost Bitch), but Rudd and Bell have a nice combative rapport that recalls the verbal sparring of movie couples in the 1930s. Jason Biggs and Lindsay Sloane (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) provide nifty supporting performances. All in all, Over Her Dead Body never fully gels, but there's some definite fun to be had as it bounces along. --Bret Fetzer
Product Description Eva Longoria Parker (TV's Desperate Housewives) stars in this devilishly funny romantic comedy about holding onto the ones you love...even after you're gone. When Kate (Longoria Parker) is killed by an ice sculpture on her wedding day, her fiance Henry (Paul Rudd, Knocked Up) gives up on romance until he falls for the beautiful psychic (Lake Bell, TV's Boston Legal) who's supposed to be helping him move on. But Kate's not having it, and she's going to do whatever it takes to send their budding relationship six-feet-under.

Over Her Dead Body DVD June 11, 2009 Stacy Wilson (Lone Grove, OK) I think I would have loved this DVD, IF I had ever received it. I paid for it quite some time ago, but I never got it in the mail. So my review of the product it great---very funny and sweet movie. Actually receiving it---thumbs down!
Very enjoyable March 18, 2009 J. Davis (San Diego, CA United States) This movie has gotten a lot of bad reviews, but I liked it a lot. It's very charming and the acting is very good. Paul Rudd and Lake Bell are a believable couple and Eva Longoria Parker is good in her role as the bitter deceased fiancee. Not great, but well worth watching.
Lake Bell needs should be a caterer not an actress! March 6, 2009 G. Azzara (San Francisco, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This movie drags like no other. The only reason why this movie would even get one star is the saving grace of Eva Longoria, who provides some comic relief which is still few and far between. I was excited to see the movie because I'm a big fan of Paul Rudd and Eva Longoria but have never even heard of Lake Bell. When I actually started to watch the movie and Lake Bell was introduced I was hoping she wasn't the leading lady. WOW! She is horrible!! Not nice to look at and definitely not a good actress. She brought down the quality of the movie single handedly. I hate to be so hard on someone but Lake Bell deserves much worse. Her performance was torture to watch and half way through I wanted to turn off the movie, I hoped it would get better but by the end I was just upset that I had lost the time in my life watching it. Its such a shame they used such a horrible actress as Lake Bell.... seriously... anyone would have done a better job!
What were they thinking? January 24, 2009 nodice (Manchester, Ga United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
For me this movie fails on all fronts: on the writing, the directing and the acting. Clearly Lake Bell was a Debra Messing substitute--then you have to wonder who would write a script for a B-listed movie star. There's nothing believable or cute about this whole premise. Plus, the dead chick and the groom seems like a mismatch in the first place. Does anyone really believe that Longoria and Rudd character's dated-much less-were heading down the aisle? And poor Ms. Bell. She was clearly giving this role her all, but the clutzy character doesn't suit her well. She should have stayed over at Boston Legal. As a romantic Comedy this just missed the mark all the way around.

I thought this would be great, but i was disappointed. The story lagged and the acting was not that good.
