Amazon.com Like a soda pop left open all night, Bueller seems to have lost its effervescence over time. Sure, Matthew Broderick is still appealing as the perennial truant, Ferris, who fakes his parents out and takes one memorable day off from school. Jeffrey Jones is nasty and scheming as the principal who's out to catch him. Jennifer Grey is winning as Ferris's sister (who ends up making out in the police station with a prophetic vision of Charlie Sheen). But there's a definite sense that this film was of a particular time frame: the '80s. It's still fun, though. There's Ferris singing "Twist and Shout" during a Chicago parade, and a lovely sequence in the Art Institute. But don't get it and expect your kids to love it the way you did. Like it or not, it's yours alone. --Keith Simanton

One of my favorites movies January 30, 2010 Celta (Miami, FL United States) Besides the idea of all of us want to do what Ferris did in high school, the quality of the picture was very good, this is a very old movie, but the work they did was fine, the sound is not spectacular but I like it, they could virtualize it through the 6 channels and left anothers sound to be heard. I can advice u to bought this item is you like this kind of picture.
Classic movie, great quality January 17, 2010 Marcus Roberto (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) As a movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off needs no presentation, is a classic! It was great see again this wonderfull movie. Altough, the extras could be a little better. Maybe the fact that in the 80's they didn't expect to insert this extras in the VHS's didn't help. The quality of the image and sound is great. Overall, a great Blu-ray and a wonderfull deal.
Buller...Buller..Buller. LOL January 15, 2010 C. Manley (Glasgow, Kentucky, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this movie, timeless is the word for it, even though the characters are alot older than now, but it could still be done today as it was then. A boy skipping school, with his friends to have "fun" during what seems to be close to summertime 72 degress in Chicago, come on that has to be summer weather for a town known for cold weather.
The Blu ray did not look any better than I remember the DVD being on my Sony Bravia TV.
But it still a classic and good way to remember the cast as they were in the hey day and to remember one of the greatest directors/writers/producers of the 80 Genre ( John Hughes died 2009)
RIP John we will miss you.
